Draisaitl? Come on.
Tkachuk? Traded to the Sabres? (frank) outta here.
Wilson is (frank)ing washed.

They were after Boone Jenner and Noah Cates in March. There's your target range.

There's a small industry built on seeing beyond points.
- Lunaion

Yes, but at some point, your top line has to produce actual results, not just expected results, and that's the scores heat.

How many top line players don't inflate their point totals with heavy power play results?

Tage's underlyings numbers say he was a first liner this past season with everything he was dealing with.

I am much more worried that the Sabres don't have a viable 2C then a 1C.

I am also wondering if Jack Quinn could potentially be this teams 2C

They have tried it in camp before

- sbroads24

Way out there prediction that won't happen:

Peterka - Tage - Quinn
Cozens - C. Stephenson - Tuch
Skinner - Bjugstad - Benson

I like everyone you mentioned, but past Sabres history has me scared of Duchene.

He's turning 34 in the middle of next season, and I fear the wheels would fall off after the Sabres overpaid him in term and AAV to get him to sign, and he'd become another mediocreat best vet for them.

If you tell me he'd accept $3M again on a one or two year deal, then yes.

I'm not worried about 2C.

Here's some interesting numbers on Tage.

22/23 260 HDCF 269 HDCA 49.1%
23/24 161 HDCF 193 HDCA 45.4%

I do expect he'll bounce back a bit, but I don't expect Tage/Tuch/Skinner to repeat 22/23 again.

Can add that they tried for him this summer and Dutchy said no.

I am always worry of that myself 39 and could be true. And he is a wish anyway, he's one that said No already. He's really good on the Dot, want his mentorship for our young C

You won't even see Skinner on that line next season (prediction).

Biggest factors in the above are the early injury from blocking the shot on the PK and whatever the hell you'd call their style of play last season.

On the numbers you shared, it's such a small slice of the overall picture that I'm not using that as some kind of concern index.

Don't think PP points on a bad PP are fooling anyone here.

Analytics are a lot more than expected results. It's just the easiest window we have.

I put a high value on creating high danger chances (and obviously giving them up), so I don't consider that small. Some of it is a reflection on whatever Donnie was trying to do, but I think the eye test showed he wasn't able to get to the net and create chances the way he did the previous season.

If Skinner, Tage, Tuch are all here, would be surprising to never see them together.

65 points in 80 games
playing a tad under 17 minutes a game

49 of those points 5 on 5

10 points in last 25 games makes it a tad worrysome but he still has wheels

doubt he signs unless adams throws 5 mil per at him

I do not believe the tried

I mean they overpaid johnson on a 1 year deal so I have to think if they did offer him a deal it was for way more then what he signed for

With Dutchy, I'm about as sure as it gets, but I'm not in the room either. Grain of salt I guess, but I heard it never got to an offer as his agent simply said he wouldn't sign here.

I’m not worried about Cozens yet, but I understand the skepticism.

Jack Quinn may be able to drive a line from the wing regardless (he may have already done that last year). Just needs to stay healthy.

Bensons sophomore jump could be fascinating also if it is anything like the one Peterka just had

They don't need to. Also, Skinner is done on that line.
