I think some of you guys were really hoping the Pens signed 2021 2nd rounder prospect Tristan Broz as opposed to him staying in college longer and potential becoming a FA?...well, they just did and he's headed to WBS

That's good news. I tried to watch him in final against BU, the numbers for Denver were just too difficult for me to read. Red on red doesn't make sense to me but I'm old school.

Great now with Sullivan staying all he needs is 3 productive AHL years and an injury and he’s in.

Just some prospect stats pulled from DK's site:

Yager assisted on the game-winning goal in Moose Jaw's 4-2 win on Friday. He has seven goals and seven assists in nine playoff games this season, and 35 goals and 60 assists in 57 regular-season games.

Joel Blomqvist was named a Second-Team All-Star in the AHL on Thursday, after being named to the All-Rookie Team on Wednesday. The 22-year-old netminder recorded a 25-11-6 record this season. His 25 wins lead all rookies, and is one shy of Marc-Andre Fleury's franchise record of 26 wins as a rookie. With two games remaining, Blomqvist will have the opportunity to tie Fleury's record this weekend.

Blomqvist also ranks third among all AHL goaltenders with a 2.14 goals against average and ranks fifth with a .921 save percentage.

Such a waste that Yager can't turn pro unless he makes the NHL. What else is he going to learn in juniors?

The NHLPA needs to push for these kids to start getting paid once they turn 18.

I've always hated that rule. It's ridiculous it's put in place to just keep those teams having "stars" to generate some seat sales.

I always thought it was kind of handshake deal between the NHL and the Junior leagues to keep those leagues healthy and providing free development for the NHL. Unions don't really bargain for new/young members either. Doesn't matter if it's the Steelworkers or sports league unions.

Dubas said he expects Poulin, Blomqvist, Ponomarev, Yager and Pickering to compete for spots in the NHL next season. He's in for a rude awakening when Sullivan decides none of them are ready.

Jesse Marshall said expecting Yager to make the NHL next season is a big stretch. That was disappointing because Marshall has been saying all year how much Yager had developed this season. I was hoping that bumped up his time table.

No idea how Pickering is expected to compete. He couldnt even make the WJC for Canada and everything I've seen says he has been unimpressive since we drafted him.

That 1st period so far by Domi is exactly why I’d want him on the pens. Guy just brings it. Can play him on all 3 top lines and can play C. And it’s 1 of the only players I can 100% say would sign with the pens

I hope someone reminds him he’s not his dad and smashes the rest of the teeth out next time he cross checks someone in the back of the head.

That being said I guess I wouldn’t mind it if he did that as a penguin. Can’t believe he hasn’t been penalized for it yet. I miss prime Matt Cooke tbh

Leafs weren't as bad as that score would indicate last night. Swayman was really good....and if your studly super star is hitting the post on empty nets and spending time in the penalty box its usually an indicator its not gonna be your night haha

Islanders looked good vs the Canes for the most part IMO. Held their own, no question. Canes were better team by a margin but Anderson stood on his head a few times.

At what point during the TOR-BOS series do TOR fans start posting on our board about how they're losing again because of Dubas?

In the 40 years I've been watching hockey, TOR has only won 14 rounds and never made a final.

No Nylander is tough. I don't watch a ton of Leafs games, but he's always really good against the Pens. He better get back for game 2.

I really wanted him this past offseason. Him and Bertuzzi I was hoping were players we would look at. Then we got Smith....

hahaha...its crazy isn't, it? This is why I think their fans are deserving.

Most of the Leafs fans in my life don't think their roster is as good as the last few of Dubas' Leafs rosters.

I think the hope is many of them make the 4th line. I think Acciari is traded this offseason.

Quite a few posts by Toronto last night. Could have easily been a different game. Oh well, I hope they get smoked.
