Rempe looks pretty good when he’s not getting challenged for a fight ever 4 seconds.

In all fairness Tempe did have a pretty good game. Their whole 4th line was good.

He can be very effective. His problem is consistency.

I would love to see Lowry and scheiffle in a pens jersey.

I think Kyle Connor is that type of speedy scoring winger the Pens need.

That would be two years then since he can't play there yet. I'd suspect Yager needs at least one more year though I'd give him a chance in camp.

I'd have said Blomquist was a long shot to start in the NHL, but sounds like they are considering it.

Yager has played 4 seasons in the WHL, although his first season was a league sanctioned partial one, which i believe makes him eligible for not having to go back to junior.

Winnipeg has some damn good players. I would kill to have Kyle Connor flanking Sid and rust.

But Pitt needs that edge that scheiffle and Lowry can bring. 2C and 3C.

I don't believe so. I believe the rule states four full CHL seasons are required, but I could be wrong.

My Avs loving buddies have been complaining about "Fourgiev" (their nickname for him) all season hahaha....I've said it regarding the Pens before but if you score 4, or even 3, goals in game you should win....let alone 5 or 6. What a barn burner last night hahah

Putting up 6 on Hellebuyck and not winning is brutal for the Avs.

We've got just the solution for them this summer.

Sadly, I think the Avs are competent enough to just sign Ned as a UFA rather than trade with us for Jarry.

Around the deadline I heard rumors we were trying to trade Jarry and Smith to LA, but couldn't make it work with cap space and picks/prospects back. So I wouldn't be surprised to see both shipped to LA with the cap space not being as big of an issue this offseason.

The Kings agreed on a trade for Ullmark, but he vetoed it, so unsurprisingly they are definitely in the market for a goalie. Not sure how much they value Jarry, but maybe there's a trade to make there.

Dubas is an odd character. He takes blame for bad moves, takes all of the blame off of Sully for terrible coaching but then he rips the players for being upset that Jake was traded.

Dubas just doesnt address his mistakes. By all accounts, Smith was a baby all year, but instead of trading him and moving forward without a guy who didnt want to be there, he just sat on him.

He slammed Jarry in the media because Jarry did what Jarry always does. Just because you gave him #1 starter money doesn't mean he is all of the sudden going to become some clutch goalie. That was Dubas fault, and he probably could have read the tea leaves and traded Jarry at the deadline before completely sinking his value down the final stretch of the season. Now he is going to be a tough trade.

If he had a chance to trade those guys for anything other than bad contracts coming back he should have done it. They might have some interest in Smith still but I can't imagine they want to tie their future to Jarry. The wildcard being if PLD continues to suck in the playoffs and LA just wants to dump him. That would be a Dubas move... another long term big salary

I mean he turned all of our bad contracts into Karlsson last offseason. Maybe he turns Smith, Graves, and Acciari (w/ picks and prospects) into Krug and Buchnevich (highly doubt it, but I was surprised by what we gave up in the Karlsson deal). Or maybe Smith and Jarry into Pierre-Luc Dubois (not really a fan but trying to keep it within LA from the rumor at the deadline) if Malkin moved to LW.

I think I remember reading there weren't any takers for Smith.....mostly because of cap hit.

Yeah smith was 100% shopped. Very hard to trade guys with term without retention at the deadline. He’ll be gone this offseason.

I’ve seen multiple places sort of speculate Jarry was shopped too but nowhere credible. I’ll be a little surprised if he’s traded but not super shocked or anything.

Kings are pretty stout defensively. They could probably make Jarry look pretty good. He is a half decent goal tender as long as he isn’t over worked.

Problem is those 3 contracts are all Dubas doing. (I don’t see Acciari as a “problem” just could be spent better)
You see GMs all the time moving past managements “bad” contracts really quickly but there own mistakes just magically aren’t or can’t be moved. They want what they “thought” was close to fair value for them and end up hanging on to them because nobody else thinks that. (Less then 1 year ago Dubas said Graves was a top pairing Dman)
Lots of the GMs don’t like accepting and moving on from their own errors or having to pay to get rid of them as it looks worse on them when they do. Rutherford is a major exception to that rule.
