My fav part about game 3 is that the leafs get to put their line on the ice after Boston does unlike the first two games. They might try that nonsense but then all Keefe needs to do is throw the 4th line on the ice as a response. - Dozzer
the last line change will certainly help. I hope that McMann draws back in as well. I'd put him in over Robertson in anticipation of the physicality... McMann can take it to the Bruins defenders - much more of a straightline player
I keep thinking - having watching Lybushkin quite closely - and knowing how much of a difference Schenn made last year against the Lightning... had the Leafs been able to grab Schenn or had simply kept him.... whatever. Thought he paired well with Rielly as well.

It's not even like he was going to get rocked there, just stick your ass out and protect the puck along the boards until reinforcements come if you have to. Sheesh. |

I’m actually more excited to get McMann back into this lineup than Willie! Don’t know the status of either!?
Leafs played hard and deserved the win. Do not touch the top line of Domi/Matt/Bert.
Marner makes $11mil and at that needs to be able to play with anyone. To me he needs to go, he plays scared in playoffs, you can see it. He will have his moments Im sure, but this guy is not worth the money in the playoffs, and you can be sure he’s going to want more money.
Willie looks like he took a kick in the boys from a disgruntled chick! I can see the Leafs not wanting to report this but, come on! Right now him and Marner are a lot of green with no value. |

Robertson is who comes out for Nylander so if you want McMann in figure out who else you’d sit.
And Schenn did alright in round one and nothing in round two… I don’t miss him tbh.
And stop thinking the leafs can easily keep guys… a lot of players don’t want to be in Canada and I don’t blame them.. way more privacy in Nashville and only a 37% taxation instead of 53.53%.
It’s the reason Canadian teams haven’t won under the cap.. the stars are over priced to ensure their take home matches league wide take homes and their teammates are basically nothing more than the cheaper guys who will take a job anywhere and RFAs who don’t have a choice. |

Willy is being paid 6.9M right now though.
The fact the Leafs are paying Brodie 5M this year to be a healthy scratch is one of those things where you think "what if that 5M was being used for a better D man" but i don't think anyone could predict Brodie's play dropping off as much as it did so he sits.

Fantastic regular season performer, ghost in the playoffs. Ship him out, or let him walk. Use that $12M+ elsewhere. |

something Im interested in seeing is how the ice tilts at home vs the last 2 on the road.
you assume at home being able to get most matchups you want, you can take advantage. but that doesnt necessarily play out. ...Keefe?
Leafs had the better of the play at 5v5 pretty much across the board in Boston.

Boston is going to come out with a fire the Leafs better be ready for, last change or not.

How many of those were in round 1 where it was a complete barnburner with no defense to be found? There aren't likely to be any games like that this year.

Not to mention Marner seems to always magically disappear when he’s not on Matthews’ line. |

There's a reason he scores goals at about half the rate in the playoffs that he does in the regular season. |

Does the first round not count because Marner played really well?
