Really, UPL started 27 games this year he had over a .920 save Percentage, could throw in about 15 more that were above .900. I don't think you actually watch the games.

Jeff Skinner moving down to a “fourth-line” role isn’t ideal for a $9 million forward. However, I think that he could be effective with Jiri Kulich and Krebs as an energy/scoring line. Good teams have four lines that can score. Keeping him around one more year also gives them the flexibility to be moved up the lineup in an injury situation.

He's looking very solid in net again so far this PO season.
I agree that $10m serves to restrict what a team can do, but damn it hasn't hurt them thus far.
It is possible that Sam doesn't chase only the money in the off-season.. he'll still get paid handsomely, but maybe he views where he is at as a once in a lifetime situation and takes less to stay.
Panthers did ok without Montour earlier in the season IIRC, he could be expendable.
