US born players will always get a few more points. Case in point, John Gibson is still considered a good goalie. He hasn't been good since like 2017.

Really, UPL started 27 games this year he had over a .920 save Percentage, could throw in about 15 more that were above .900. I don't think you actually watch the games.

I have a buddy who was a huge upl fan and even a few days ago admitted UPL let us down the stretch with a soft goals against.

It also helps when you attend games and see it in person.

The guys played 40+ games since he was 23. Been on the worst defensive team and one of the worst teams PERIOD going back to 2019.

He hasn't had a quality start percentage above 50% in 6 years. In 46 games, he didn't get a single shut out. And his goals saved above average was an abysmal -21.2. He's part of the reason they aren't very good.

I get where you're coming from, bad teams make it harder on goalies. But that's also why QS%, shutouts and GSAA are important barometers. Petr Mrazek went 18-31-4 on the lowly Blackhawks this year while still being +6.6 in GSAA, a +50QS% and actually pulled off a shutout. I don't think Mrazek is very good either, about average, but you can't even compare those two and not find Gibson lacking to some extent.

He let in soft goals not doubt. He also stopped a ton and was in the top of the NHL for a decent portion of the season... The rest of the team normally come out weak in the 1st period, then left before the end of the 3rd...I wonder if that impacted his game as well? Do you think so?
