The ironic part of this, is most likely Johnson fought with Meatball due to the environment cultivated in Buffalo leading to his trade, not his play on the ice... - washedup20
I know and the cherry on top is, it’s looking like he was in the right and at least trying to push for accountability.
He made himself a scapegoat. The more I think about it, the more I realize that Donnie is kind of a wanker. |

The environment was here prior to Donnie, he (like Adams) are just plug ins for Terry.
Now the future of this core (which is less talented than the previous core) is solely dependent on a 64 year old coach...who looks like one hiccup/burp away from a stroke.

I am indifferent to the Lindy Ruff hire. With the direction they decided to go after the LaFontaine debacle, I think it was in his best interests to leave. Why punish one of the winningest coaches ever with an obvious tank plan where losing was a requirement to the point where we had to trade goalies away for playing too good.
Dallas can’t seem to get over the hump with anyone coaching them and New Jersey have been stuck in goaltending limbo for a decade now.
I personally would have preferred Gallant but of the available coaches, and even if Tortorella was in the mix, Lindy is just as good or bad of a choice as any.
The only thing that would upset me is if Brind’amour becomes available and this is what causes us to miss out on him.
I think Lindy back in Buffalo is a shot in the arm for him just as much as the fanbase and locker room. |

Donnie let the pressure of making the playoffs impact him as well this past season, and I think that trickled down a bit to the players.
He was never a strong X's and O's guy, and had very little support in that regard from his Assistant Coaches. He, his staff and the Players were lost in developing effective strategies and tactics when opponents took away the way the team preferred to play pond hockey. |

Well said. I'm pretty excited for Ruff, I think he's a good coach and I was worried we were going to be forced to go dumpster diving again. That said, I would've preferred Gallant instead and Rod would've been cool, but we gave that no chance. Positives and negatives. |

When is the booster(s) scheduled?

Ya, and EVERYONE sees it.
Yet you push this false narrative that everyone loves him and want more like him.
When phrases like Power forward, or tough to play against, or grit is used; then replace Greenway in your head with the likes of
-Tkachuk brothers
-Lawson Crouse
-Dakota Joshua
-Evander Kane (although the person sucks)
-Tom Wilson
Get it? - IonSabres

Tkachuck brothers and a younger evander Kane (now’s he’s slower) is a player I would want.
They can skate, play with speed, and skill and hit.
Tom Wilson and Lawson crouses of the world don’t meet my requirements in the skating department.
And fyi cozens, Dahlin, and skilled players come playoff time will need to change their game up when it happens
We have seen some shades of it vs the panthers in the past

Lawson Crouse is a good skater for a man his size. You show more and more that Hockey is a sport you know nothing about. |

He’s not a great skater. Sorry. Most scouting report says “solid skater.”
That means not great. In the nhl solid does help you.
Ask Reinhart. His biggest knock was his skating and speed. The guy improved it tremendously
If you can’t skate. I don’t want you |

Tom Wilson had 15pts in 21 games the year they won the cup. He also leads there team after 2 games this year with 3pts. While everyone else doesn't have more than 1. |

Useless player. Leaf fans actually make fun of the dude because he’s so bad and are mad at how much of a waste he is |

Iafallo, Alex WPG
for
Skinner, Jeff ($2,500,000 retained)
that would be a steal
Defense is not competitive enough IMO, to soft.
Love the 3rd line. - washedup20
I was thinking on that. Based on the massive overhaul at forward, it doesn't leave much left for the defense, which I assume is very safe.
This is a tough spot. Do you trade Ryan Johnson for a Will Borgen? He's the closest NHLer of them all and he's cheap, which is becoming clear they will need in the next two years. Maybe Jeremy Lauzon.
