What I can say with almost certainty is that there was zero reason to employ Jason Christie beyond 2021.

And another thing. Mike Weber received the same job as Mike Peca. Why doesn't anyone seem to mind that he left?

ya know, you listen to these shows.. One Bills Live, Sabres Live. The Bills talk doesn't really need to say anything too controversial, they're not really afraid to call people out on occasion either. It's not a dumpster fire on that side though.

Where you really notice it is on Sabres Live. Once situations become, I don't know, not good for a player or a staff member, they will essentially ignore it, or put a little make up on it.

What's even more brutal is you listen to After The Whistle, the few times where the guys spend a minute or two calling out "The Other Show" for towing the company line. You get real talk from ATW. You may not always agree with the points, but they call it as they see it and they're usually riding the same waves as the fans. They'll sit in the tsunami with you. Sabres Live? They'll watch it on tv, say well there's only a few injuries, we'll pray for them, let's see what Shayna Goldman has to say about league wide goalie trends!

It's pretty obnoxious, the disparity between real and don't offend Dear Leader.

I couldn't stand listening to Sabres Live this year. I flipped it on, on occasion, just to get a beat on how they're viewing and talking about the season. There was a point, and some of you may recall, that Duff refused to talk about (disparage) the PP and who was running it any longer. It's just offensive.

I don't blame people for being cynical. I personally believe they hired the right coach for this iteration of the Sabres. I'm not going to sit here like we won the McDavid lottery.

But he is everything this hockey board has demanded from the coach.
