Jones is playing a lot of minutes and he's doing a lot of stuff. That's what the Hawks need from their number one defenceman right now and he's providing it, especially on special teams. #Blackhawks

Will be interesting to see how zone exits improved with a better roster. Entry denials still very very bad. Overall I think it confirms he's pretty good at most stuff, very good at a few things and bad at others. Probably not going to be a positive WAR player based on his salary - if that was accurately projectable - but thats not a contract that they have to worry about or a player that is going to be overly bad.
Some interesting stuff in the exit interviews Zawaski and crew had. I could really do without Boysen at this point but what are you gonna do.
Sounds like there were some issues with guys on the team buying into the game plan and slotting into their roles. Which is interesting with this group cause you'd think most of these bozos would be happy to be on a NHL roster. |

I'm going to trust whoever they draft, I'm not going to be like Elbows and think i know better. - BetweenTheDots
It’s not like KD and crew are infallible. They are going to make picks that don’t work out. Lots of guys can look good in a small sample size.
There is nothing against stating your opinion, regardless of how strongly you state it. Tats what makes this place fun. I disagree with a lot of what Stevefromglencoe posts, but really appreciate that he does. Makes me do more research to back up my own positions. |

Very true but they are putting the work in. Like Wiz does, i trust he would most likely make a better draft decision than i would. |

Debrusk with another playoff goal. He's in for a big pay day this summer. |

At least 6M AAV, probably more. KD should offer him 6 x 7M.

That was a good game. Hope Montgomery is smart enough to keep Swayman in the net the rest of the series. |

Always.
Matthews had a great goal last game but wasn’t a factor at all tonight. Marner was a complete no show.
One thing KD has to be sure of is the size of the heart of the player. Stay away from high skill no heart guys like Marner or Zegras. Whoever he gets has to be able to battle when it gets tough. |

That 1st goal against was brutal. To me they don't have enough depth. Blue line or forwards
How does LVGK do that, get behind the defenseman consistently.

Can't believe after last year 20 is still getting ice time in the playoffs for the Stars. |

Only 2 games away now from opening another expensive bottle of Cab to celebrate the annual early Maple Leaf playoff elimination.
Coach Keefe probably wants their heart transplants re-scheduled for tomorrow instead of post season. But they will quickly fire him instead so they don't have to blame it on their gutless Top 5 who make all the money.

The last game Matthews was all in, throwing his weight around, getting involved in the hard areas. Tonight he wasn’t really interested in that and wasn’t a factor. Marner is just plain scared. Tavares tries but with one third of his line, Marner, a no show there’s not much he can do. If Nylander comes back next game he’ll have a target on his back. |

It's always the ref's fault! Also Bettman hates the Leaves. Paul's right, Marner and Matthews were just as noticeable as Willy Bystander. |

Yep, it's class warfare! The rich fans don't make enough noise to correctly encourage the boyz to perform their best. They need more REAL fans. - mohel

I'd like to see Mark Messier coach the Leafs for one olayoff series. He would leave some dead bodies behind in his own dressing room. One look from him and the whole team would waive their cushy NMCs. |

Carolina also passed on him. And Carolina has been fairly good at identifying and developing defensive talent. - fattybeef
Yup. Hawks traded Forsling and Anton Forsberg to the Canes for DeHaan and somebody.
Forsling couldn't make the Canes NHL squad and was waived by the Canes the following year. Florida claimed him and the coach at that time, Joel Quenneville, played him.
