I’m in a good mood folks… just saw the neurologists and I seized 3 more times last night

They told me they’re still going to lower my meds a bit and get my seizures captured showing every last little bit. It may sound crazy but everything is currently going ideally, not just for me but the dozen neurologists here atm and one or two of the surgeons coming to see me

Well I guess it's time to make the most of it and... SEIZE the moment!

The brother in law is a bruins fan, because of this my 10 year old nephew is one as well. That little bugger agreed to a bet. He’ll wear a leafs jersey for a day if Boston doesn’t take the leafs down again.

I’ll take them and hang pics of him in my bloody house framed… it makes me want the leafs to win even more lol

Agree. We need two good pieces on the blue line also. And I still scratch my head if we could do better than Moe as well.

Have to take in to account that Tre struck out with Klingberg this year. Imagine if that 5mil, went to a quality D man.

May not be having a lot of these conversations at this point.

Agree, and I'll give Tree a pass for last summer b/c the blueline UFA's were total poop. This summer is (so far) a bit better.

100 % he does - Tre needs to use that to his advantage when negotiating a new deal IMO.

We love you, the city loves you and you love this city, the fans and the team.

We NEED you to take less for the benefit of this city - as loved as you are now you will be more loved if you just take the same as Willy or even less (he won't take less).

We CAN'T move forward and be a cup contender if we pay you more than Willy - that's just reality Mitch.

8 years at Willly's money is on the table, happy to do less years for same or less money but that is the max salary per year we can do.

Ball is in your court Mitch (Mitch's dad).

Here's the thing - JT is up at the end of 2025 with Marner - so you can sign Marner and let JT go and use that money to improve the defense and goaltending - but the problem remains that next season is beyond tight already. They need a goalie, they need a couple of defensemen, they need a couple of forwards. Up front it could be as simple as signing Domi, promoting Knies to the top-6 and pulling up a kid from the Marlies - but JT remains an unresolved problem for next year.

On the backend you clearly need to replace last year's Brodie (Is that Tanev? Does he come here? Is he just like moving the bump down the snake?). But all they have right now is Rielly, McCabe, Timmins and Benoit. In net they need a 1 or 1A with Woll. That's a lot of patchwork to see yourself through to 2025.

Which years of Mitch's contract has he been fairly paid, underpaid or overpaid in your opinion?

In mine I feel like he has been overpaid in all the years of his current deal.

I understood some of it due to Lou kinda' (frank)ing him over, BUT he hasn't taken the reigns and been the most or 2nd most dominate wright winger in the league come playoff time yet hence my opinion he has been consistently overpaid.

- Cush29

I was hoping he wouldn't sign for anymore than 10 at the time. So i felt he was overpaid by $900gs.
However, since 2018 hes been at 93 - 99pt per year player (2019 and 2020 if you extrapolate his ppg). So pretty decent for 10.9 per, better would have been 10.
I feel willie will be overpaid by a 1 million going forward

So your suggesting.....trade Marner before his deal is up? Not sure that works with him having all the control over his destiny.

I say that because JT isn't going anywhere nor being traded IMO so they are stuck with his monster cap hit next season regardless.

They may just have to be prepared to take a step back next year unless they have a bunch of Marlie players or guys being paid like Marlies play and overperform.

About two more Knies would go along way with a healthy McMann.

Of course, the dream is to sign Tavares to peanuts X 3 years, and shift him to 2nd line wing or 3rd line centre.

If you can push his salary down far enough, he's a great asset to keep.

I think Marner is overpaid and Willy is about to be for sure but Marner even at 10 to me would have been an overpay by 1M. I think he should have got 9M per so to me he's been overpaid by 1.9M each year.

I also think the gap in salary between Matthews and MM or WN should be much bigger than it is.

We saw them at the Ampitheather in . . . I'm going to say 2004 or 2005ish. I remember that Sum 41 was the opener - but I don't think we arrived in time to see them. It was a solid show - definitely not mind-addled chubby Vince.

My wild yet edumacated guess is that when Treliving made his "hire me" pitch, he told the Board of Directors that this was not a 1-2 year fix, and his big moves would start as soon as the Tavares deal was done.

What I'm saying is what you're saying - the right thing to do going forward is to let JT go (or resign for peanuts) and keep Marner and suffer next year as a result. Trading Marner because you can't trade JT and then having neither one as an elite forward limits the team in the foreseeable future. You want to have Marner, Matthews, Nylander and then solid D and G behind them.

JT was always a luxury we couldn't afford.

Honestly, take a neutral step next year.
Keep your first, plug holes for the year.....oh nevermind, we dont have a 1st...2nd.....3rd.....or 4th.
Gonna be a slow season next year...which is fine, gives the new coaching staff the whole year to reform how this team plays
Make a run again the following year.
