Does anyone on Philly's roster trip anyone's trigger? Frost, Farabee, Coutourier? Seems they are willing to deal some players this offseason. I know Frost and Coutourier both were healthy scratches during the year and weren't happy about it. Maybe they just didn't blend well with Torts?

Frost as a buy low guy. Couts is too old and broken for this group and Farrabee won't be a buy low type, IMO

Too bad Trevor Connelly has some baggage issues. His game fits the type KD prefers.

Stiga might be a nice 2nd RD guy. That is if he isn't climbing up the rankings.

It is funny how a person like me, who has no 9 to 5 job, has all this unused time and brain and I start thinking about hockey rumors I read and try and connect them to other situations.
Today I read that the Sabres were going to be mentioning winger Jack Quinn as a trade piece. He has been marred with injuries even before he was drafted but 24 goals and 58 points over his three seasons since being drafted somehow has them thinking he is more asset than answer there.

Well, guess whose unused time and brain started thinking is there a possible comparable in this year’s draft class, and I thought, NO!, but some might try and use Eiserman as a comparison since Quinn did have a 52 goal and 89 point season while in the OHL with the Ottawa 67’s. Eiserman.

Please don’t.

It is difficult to ignore Cole's 97 goal, 154 point season while at ShattuckSt Mary's, and all the rest where the biscuit is in the basket.

Eiserman skates better, reads better and may not have that extra inch that Quinn has but Cole Eiserman is thicker and a load on the attack. The rest will come. Don’t believe the draft drop.
Ok, back to U-18

Keep on posting, Wiz............ Jack Quinn is a damn nice player at 22 yrs old, Wiz. I've been impressed with him in the Bigs, now whether he has the ability to challengeb the 50 goal mark consistently like Eiserman looks to have that ability I don't know. But, if he's on the market I hope KD calls to see what's up.

This is the kinda player that's a perfect add for the Hawk rebuild. He's 22, can step right in and contribute with his best hockey being played the next 10 yrs.

9 goals for USA today and Eiserman with none. Maybe he'll last until pick 20.

He'll probably be available with the Hawks 2nd round pick.

What else:

If Saginaw Spirit comes back and ties London Knights tomorrow night, I am gonna feel certain that Zanye Parehk is putting enough scouts eyes on him go very high like the 4th slot I am stubbornly keeping him in, ahead of Levshunov, Sam RRichardinson, Buium, Silayev and Yakemchuk...

- wiz1901

I tuned into the 3rd period last night, so I missed the hockey (and Parekh's play) that decided this game. But in these playoffs Parekh is nothing like the regular season and with him sporadically being scratched along with the eye test in these playoffs I'm sure he's not right.

I watched a lotta Saginaw this yr and I like my understanding of Parekh but I had no idea that team is this good. London is a monstor like every yr and Saginaw is out playing them..... And that D!ckinson kid is really really really good. At 6ft 3in and thick, a bordering on being off the charts skater, nimble feet/hands to have crazy good short area game, serious about his zone and plays physically this kid looks to have the drag his team into the fight make up D!ckinson is almost impossible for an NHL GM to pass up no matter what yr or player is on the board.

And I'd listen to anyone if they said the same about an NHL GM passing on Buium, Parekh and Levshunov, even Siliyev.

No, but any thing that disuades them from taking no edging Demidov is good news...
- wiz1901

God bless you, Wiz. Your decades of evaluating tell you Demidov's skating will be a problem in the NHL and nothing that's said about the kid dissuades your conviction. .. Keep on posting.

Did you watch USA pound the Finns today? I walked away thinking the Hemmings kid might be a nice player. ........ Humphries caught my eye with his size and showed a nice fist 2 ft burst along the wall in open ice. .... I was sky high on Kivarju 2 yrs ago and with his ACL blowout he's gone off the radar where he was thought to be a top 5 pick.

Kid's skating was never a strong suit it was always his IQ and no injury will affect that. An interesting player as he falls down the board on draft day...... Helenious did nothing to detract the fine reports/evaluations of him. A good bit there and he has good size.

KD would need ESP or phone taps on the other GMs phones to determine who they are leaning toward to determine who would be available at 9 and 10. Won't happen, but it and it would be nice to get a F and a D in the top 10, then another F at 19-20.
- boilermaker100

BM, I'm running a scenario based on MY evaluation of the top 10 in the draft but for the most part it's mainstream. I'm probably higher on Eiserman and Parekh than most guys paid to evaluate but for the most part I'm mainstream this yr.

But IMO there really isn't a question at all of my top 7-8 in NHL minds just the order. No real disagreements on the players as the 2nd tier is easy to differentiate from the others this yr.

I know NHL organIzations run all kinds of draft scenarios and their own mocks, obviously, and with the top 7-8 being close to impossible to differentiate, and or clear cut, as prospects I don't think any ESP is needed to know what the other GM is thinking about the top 7ish players.

But as far as the #4 vs the #'s 8-9 I would not do that deal. IMO you'll get a difference making NHL player at #4 and the chances of doing that with the #'s 8 and 9 much much much less so.

Ugh...retired West Coast guys don't get up in time for games from Finland - at least I don't.

Looks like Jokinen and Suoniemi scored most of the points for the Finns - and are draft eligible this year - did they look promising? I see they had a Koivu also.

How are you guys watching those OHL games?

BM, I've been using onhockeytv for 5-6-7 yrs for all of my hockey other than the USHL which I pay to see. I do not pay for anything other than the USHL.

onhockeytv has been a savior for me.I can and have watched the NHL, Liiga, KHL, SHL, all international tournaments, all CHL (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) all NCAA for free, everyday.

I've never had a problem with the 3 computers I've used to watch the reddit illegal streams. Not sure of your tolerance for the risk but I've never had a problem with a virus...... But you have to fool around to find out how and which streams work best as far as volume and full picture or streams that work best without buffering.

I use fluidtv link for the CHL and NCAA. xstream, vodacst are two to try for the NHL. These are links at onhockeytv that you can use. Some games have 30 links.

sportsurge is a site that does have hockey and works best for the NFL and MLB.

You gotta record, totem......... Yes, that Sounniemi kid is big, can move and shows skilled hands. Jokinen's name was called often.... Small sample size but good to see the names I read. Been awhile since I saw these kids at the Hlinka tournament and besides they change sooooooooo much from the start of the yr and end of it.

Eiserman showed some determination going to the hole (net). Kid is the same as always, a pure goal scorer. Looked stout, efficient, an all the way thru his life well coached kinda game...... If the Hawks took him at 2, along with 6 other guys, I'm ok with it.
