What are you talking about?? Do you sleep upside down? I didn't pass anything off as my own idiot! I simply quoted a portion of the article and included who said it. Wake up! Honestly, you and MJL deserve each other. - jd250

You still can't grasp it. No matter how many times it is told to you. So I won't bother attempting to do so again. The Couturier situation has not completely played out. It is an 8 year contract. I have never denied my stance and opinion offered that I wanted Couturier re-signed or that I liked the deal when it was made. Never.
It's been over for you for a long time. The only person you're capable of mocking is yourself. You can keep going all you want. I will just keep laughing at you. - MJL
morning cliff how are you today? Any new topics you want to discuss? or keep beating the same horse?
How about you lay out what you would do this off season for the flyers? |

Not a good free agent class this year, and I think if the Flyers stay at 12 they might be trading their picks this year to be honest if there is a deal to be made. I do believe the Flyers also need to subtract more players. - jd250
no choice really but to subtract, at least on the D side. If MM comes, on the O side, then they need to move out there. Seems Farabee is a possible trade candidate. I think Ryan P and Hathaway have value at their contracts, will they trade them, no but hopefully by the TDL those 2 increase their value and are traded.

And then you made the comment about the AHL and attributed it to no one. Doing what you always do, regurgitate someone else's thoughts and pass them off as your own. It wasn't until you were called out on it that you posted the article link.

Panthers are an interesting case. They will need to sign Reinhart, they will have Bennett and Verhaeghe on their final year, 4.4 and 4,1 currently, raises coming. Lundell needs a new deal. Ekblad one more year, Montour UFA, raise coming and more coming...
Flyers like trading with Panthers, I could see the Flyers checking in on Bennett, Verhaeghe and Ekblad and more. I would not want Ekblad, but there could be a hockey trade there, somewhere.
Side note, Good on Bob, that 10 mil deal was laughed at, 2 more years after this season, at the very least it wasn't a story

Bob has played really well for the last year plus. Finally seems like he has reached his playoff ceiling. Overall that deal was pretty bad though. That said, I think the Panthers have a legit shot at winning the cup. If they do win the cup then the deal was worth it.

Jets have to be sell aka re-shape, not a championship team. The Isles seem to be in the same boat, there main O players are on the wrong side of 30, decent D but age is a factor across the lineup. Could say the same for the Jets.
First choice, Flyers win the lottery and move up or try to trade up and get their guy. Sell this summer, if not, fall back next season, have to sell at TDL, get into top 5 in 2025 draft, get 2 more 1st round picks for 2025.
What will they do, there are enough teams out there that need a new direction, the MM news is now a wild card, if MM comes, they will explore hockey trades, if that goes well they might look at FA, but check the ages of what is available, ugly, though Reinhart is FA, wanted him back in the day, Cats be silly not to sign him.
Man DB is going to have temptation, there is options for the Flyers but only one way to get that top C and D.

I wonder if the Flyers get Perfetti from the Jets. Not sure what the Jets would want from the Flyers but they have a lot of crap contracts to dump if the Flyers were willing to take them back like Schmidt. |

I think Schmidt makes a lot of sense for the Flyers. One year left. Can play right side. Could flip at the TDL. If the Jets are looking to dump his salary it makes a lot of sense.

kind of it, no way I give that contract, but by and large Bob has played well enough to keep it out of the headlines. Agreed, he gets a cup, then it will turn into a good move.

They could be interested in the cost certainty of Sanheim. His contract is not a killer for the Flyers but I would love to move it. He has a NTC though. He is also Canadian so maybe Winnepeg is not unappealing to him.

I'm not the one that spends hours on this forum every single day and night doing nothing but petty arguing with other posters. You are not the only troll on this forum but make no mistake, you are the biggest troll by far!
I bring hockey content and hockey talk to this forum .. something you know very little about, and you prove it every single day! |

the silver lining of the franchise being relatively healthy the last 2 seasons, they have options to re-shape the franchise. Prior, everyone was hurt and the value was in the tank.

A tale as old as time. Teams make an early exit and fans start to rabidly speculate on what good players can be poached from the expected tear down.
And yet, this rarely happens. NHL GMs are nutless monkeys for the most part. Most of them like their guys, although not quite to the level of the Flyers. |

The Lightning are a shining example of realizing the current course was incorrect and making pretty drastic changes. In my opinion the Leafs need to do something similar. They also need to get a Hedman and Vasilevskiy. Easy peazy

I agree. Just think that Sanheim's contract is movable with a quality return to the Flyers. Moving Risto's contract would cost the Flyers assets. I do not want to spend even more assets on Risto. It has already cost the Flyers multiple draft picks just to acquire him.

Maybe I'm overlooking something but I don't see a trade fit between the two teams. Other than the remote possibility that Konecny is not re-signed and is moved at next years deadline. With the players you named. Florida is a legit contender. Eve if they fall short this season. They'll surely be of the mindset to take another run at it. The cap is going up this off season and will go up again after 24/25.
