I have come close but I just think the following 3 things.

1. Dale Tallon / Gilbert Perreault
2. Mike Richter
3. Aaron Rome/Johnny Boychuck
4. Jake Virtanen/William Nylander

Don't stop there.

Canuck fans do the same things with their continual failures, but it’s just fun watching the Leaf fans do it because there’s 180 million of them.

I wish TB would have lost 3-1 tonight so we could joke about Toronto knocking them out 2 years in a row.

A lot of good he did for the Washington Capitals PP this year.

As usual you miss the point, just like you did with goalies? There are no sure things.

Last year people thought I was insane that the cost for JT Miller would be Nylander in my opinion at the time.
$8M vs 11.5M moving forward. JT most likely becomes less effective moving forward. But, he's a type of player you would covet. 6 more years of JT.

Last year people thought I was trolling, still might. I thought it was a hockey trade.

Dude did you not see Marner throw his gloves when Willie chirped him. How the (frank) could he handle JT#9

He'll be back in the NHL soon enough and if the Leafs are smart, he'll be coming home.

Missing the point is watching playoff hockey and thinking you can win in the playoffs with bad goaltending and an idiot set of coaches.

Fine, you drive a hard bargain.

I would love great goaltending. You think we can keep the core 4 and take a chance on a goalie. For years the Flyers lost in the playoffs because of their goaltending. They always ended up with the wrong guy. It is a guessing game. Helleybuck is getting lit up right now. Bob was for a few years 3 years ago right after he signed his big contract. Sorokin was benched. Saros is getting out played by Casey DeSmith and the latvian kid. Aiden Hill was a hero last year key to Vegast winning the cup and on the bench this year. Markstrom has been awesome terrible, awesome again and not so good again. Samsonov outplayed Vasilevsky last year.
MAF keeps getting replaced as starting goalie and his team winning the cup shortly thereafter,

Were you saying we should keep Freddie? Looks good so far this year, Ullmark? You were ready to trade Marner plus for him.

Yep a great playoff goalie would be great. Not easy to find.

We all get older at some point. I’m almost 60 and I’ve got two grandkids now.
- LeftCoaster

I seriously notice less animosity now and believe it is because we have a lot of old-timers who have been here for years now. I turn 60 this year also... no grandkids, but my son did just get his driver's license, so that amps up the worrying!

Whatever Mitch is way better than Willie. Look at his career stats and he was once 2nd in Selke voting. Since I do not think you are a troll you can have him for Hronek or JT Miller.

Nobody could troll like Iggy and Jero. Those guys used to p*ss me off royally, then I grew to love their schtick

Utah has more picks and prospects than a 1/4 of the league. They can overpay for a soft winger........and then regret it.
- golfingsince

Are you suggesting they’ll be managed properly in year 1?

I was cheering for Florida, because my whole family lives in Tampa and a couple of them are insufferable.

I gotta admit, I did not like either of the goalie interference calls against Tampa and that most definitely impacted the game.

Nylander had stated repeatedly that he wanted to stay in Toronto. Toronto said they wanted to keep him. They signed him when he was on the hottest streak of his entire career and his earning potential was at an absolute max - pacing to career bests of 47 goals and 73 assists and a 120 point season. For the record only 4 point had 120 points or more this year and 3 of them do make more than Nylander's $11.5m: Panarin, MacKinnon and McDavid. The league leader, Kucherov, makes $9.5m.

Nylander ended up at 98 points - surrounded by guys all making around $9.5m, which is sort of where it was always suggested he should be.

So, yes, they panicked and they overpaid him. They had time - there was just simply no reason to pay him at the apex. Even if he had magically gotten better this year, his salary wasn't going to change much from that point - but if he had come back down to Earth, like he predictably did, his value would drop to where we needed him to be.

- Monkeypunk

Agreed.
The leafs definitely overpaid willie.
Tre has a record of questionable contracts.

Did you really copy and paste what I chirped in Canucks blog and post it in here because I didn’t respond to your response in that thread?!! Yikes man. I’m not even going to get into with you - I’m just sorry for whatever is going on in your life that has led to this low point of desperation and attention. Give your dad a call eh - say sorry.
