Aside from pitching Varsho is my favourite player to watch.

What BOS have done with their goaltending in the past few seasons is unreal.

Ullmark and Swayman have both been top 10 in goals saved above expected in each of the past two seasons.

They currently have 6.4 goals saved in the '24 playoffs in 4 games (next-best team is at 1.5)

With the exception of 3 ugly games in last year's playoffs, this team has turned the most unstable position into a consistent elite-level strength.

And it's not about team defence either - glimpses of private models factoring in screens/passes/etc. say the same thing.

When you see a tandem performing well it's easy to just brush it off as "oh it must be team defence effects you can't factor for," but what if the "team effects" are goalie coaching?

Woll has a .918 SV% in 6 games in the playoffs dating back to last year.

Sammy is 6-13 in the playoffs and in his 4 runs has only reached over a .899 SV% ONCE. And it was on the caps.

It’s madness that it’s 3-1 and the first time we are seeing Woll is now.

I’m not saying it was a HR to put him in, but to just put all this faith into Sammy the whole series was a poor decision.
