Is Marner a talent of circumstance? If you put him with less talented players and he has to carry the load is he the same PPG player? I think we have Marners on the roster and another will not help row the boat to the playoffs.

Taking Mitch means offloading all of Jeff and Peterka too.
Then you're gambling on him re-signing a deal, and that deal isn't more than Dahlin.
All for a guy who gets mud stomped in the playoffs every single year. - TheSabresTaco

Gabe’s Gate had the most mediocre/overpriced food in Buffalo - Jet Jaguar BD
I went there once with my inflatable doll girlfriend to try the wings. The wings sucked and I still wasn't the weirdest thing in there. The clientel in that place looked like the freaky slime you see in the university encampments. My perception of the people on here that like that place aligns. |

I would personally avoid Mitch Marner at market value.
The fit is poor.
There isn't a realistic scenario that works for Buffalo to take him. - TheSabresTaco
That's where I'm probably at too. Great player, but not the type we need to put us into contention. Would that apply to most 1 year UFAs though? Or are you willing to take on a short term guy if it helps us break the cycle of mediocrity here?

Middle 6 centers with the plausibility of using #11 (and possibly more)
William Karlsson, NTC - 31, 3 more years, 5.9M
Boone Jenner, NTC - 30, 2 more years, 3.75M
Nick Schmatlz, NTC - 28, 2 more years, 5.85M
Sam Bennett - 1 more year, 4.425M
Noah Cates, RFA - 1 more year, 2.265M
There are some great options for the 3/4C spots that wouldn't use 11OA. - TheSabresTaco
I was going to ask: Why would it cost the 11th overall for any of those you listed above?
None of them are anything special. |

I know this line of thought is contested. I don't mind role players on a year or two deal. But I want impact players on long term (2+) years. So the centers I posted above I'd want for Lindy's entire contract.
I also made known my desired role players, which are all going to have interest from a number of teams. I don't care if they're on 2-3 year deals, they're known commodities and they do their jobs.

Because the 11th OA pick is worth those players, as you can see from recent history.
They're all similar impact but have the added value of term.
And they're centers. So if anything, 11OA doesn't cover it. |

Dennis Hopper as Feck from the film River's Edge approves of this message.
I make wings on the grill that are better than any restaurant's overpriced either rubbery-fried or dry-as-a-bone fried wings. Either use hoisin or bbq sauce at the end to get the char, or grill them and sauce them...better than anything I've had in 2 decades from anywhere. |

Makes sense. I'm hoping for a more permanent solution to a few of these open spots as well, but time will tell if he can get anything done. |

Dennis Hopper was great.
I loved (most of) his Nike ads. The Barry Sanders one is even better than the “bad things, man” Bruce smith one

Too many scuzzy townies working there for the past few years, and their cooks suck.

Getting one of those 2-3 year centers allows Ostlund to develop as well. By their expiratory year, you know what you have in him. Same with Wahlberg.

I'd rather trade one of the Sabres prospects and a future 1st then this year's 1st. |

Oh, miscommunication perhaps.
Centers I listed are definitely worth 11 (+ perhaps)
I also want to target some lesser centers (Ryan Lomberg?)
But I see what you're saying in using a prospect. I too am not opposed. But you're probably aiming for either a long term expensive player. And I don't give a poop about the first. Some do, some don't.
I wouldn't even hate using a prospect to get rid of Skinner, then a separate deal to get a guy like Buchnevich. |

Where do you anticipate the next 3 1st round picks to land for the Sabres?
What prospect at 11 do you see worth adding to the #1 prospect pool in the league? |

Allentown’s finest, you probably actually saw Fitz in real life, or 5 other guys who look just like him.
It’s not a complete hole, but there’s like 3 or 4 other spots nearby that put it to shame. Fat Bob’s and Mother’s are like a stone’s throw away and both a better atmosphere and food. |
