Driving for 5 minutes and listened to WGR.
Biron in the most politically polite manor said we should offer sheet Swayman for 6-8 mill a year.
I am kind of shocked. Usually he’s not that honest.
He did it the most friendly way of doing it. So he didn’t offend the Sabres or players since he’s a Sabres employee. |

Reinforces just how unrealistic it is. Always fun to consider though.

Seriously, where is the Sabres braintrusts version of that type of deal? Or even a Devon Toews type of deal? - sbroads24
This (and last) year is the time to show it.

I mean it’s 100% doable on paper. Adams would never attempt it. |

Felt like there was a huge gap in quality between your two lists and the C's didn't come close to that value.
Logically, I don't think 11 for a 3C makes any sense for them, especially with limited term and no team control. Need KA to do better than that, if he opts to trade the pick. - Lunaion
I guess I disagree. The guys I posted vs the guys who've been traded, when taking into account position, projected contract, RFA/UFA years remaining, talent, production, I would definitely argue the centers I listed are of equal or greater value than the ones that have been traded for 1's already. Buchnevich should be on that list too, realistically.

Agree with the above.
That would feel like a panic trade. - kingcong39
Using a 1st on a Karlsson is a panic trade?

Using this year's 1st? Yes.
I could be talked into next year's 1st.
I believe you could get Karlsson, assuming he'd waive, for a prospect and a 2nd. |

11 for a 3C is a mental hurdle I can't get over.
Also, they don't seem like a team who cares/overvalues 1sts. An ELC ready to step in seems a lot more enticing for them. Sabres don't really draft guys who fit the Vegas mold though.

The previous 3C for the Sabres was drafted 8th overall...the current assumed 3C was the main piece targeted in the Eichel trade, and drafted 17th......why is this 11th pick assumed to be too high of a price now? |

The expectation for 11 is higher than a 3C and I'd say the market value of the pick is higher as well. Doesn't mean they always hit, but if you trade them all for 3rd liners, you'll always suck.
Picks are also over-valued, so I'm pretty good at speaking out both sides of my mouth.

William Karlsson is a 60 point 3C.
Yeah I'm kinda curious about some of these heel-turns I'm seeing today on this first round pick business. |

He also wasn't a 3C the bulk of the season, so a big part is where you see him fitting in.

Honestly, it's because guys like Filip Forsberg, Kevin Fiala, Lawson Crouse, Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter were also drafted 11th overall. It's a 50/50 if you're going to hit in the teens, but you're still high enough to have a good chance of drafting a very high impact player.
A 2C, I'd pull the trigger, for a bottom6 player (3C), you're essentially saying you think the class is weak or you are bad at drafting.

He's one I would. I would say he's closer to a 2C than a 3C though. Cates, as an example, is a step down. |

I think the objective is to find a center who is more than capable of playing 2C.

Fair enough. I can see Karlsson and Schmaltz there, but not sure Jenner has that much left in the tank. Cates just had a pretty rough year I know. If it's straight up, I think we have to shoot for the higher ones on that list is all. |

that’s about all they do there
they have extremely poor management
no movies play there except maybe a big disney release once or twice a year
unfortunate, personally, I would go there all the time if they played even some new releases |

Very true, but only temporarily. We basically need a 3C for a year. |
