hes almost 19. If he makes the team, he plays. Hes bigger than Marner and is a farm kid.
- drexel

Well he’s from brydges… my home town is strath and I know his family well… not really a farm kid but I get what you’re saying

So what happens if Boston comes back from 3-1 and beats Florida?

Besides me saying the NHL playoffs are fixed, of course.

Maurice fired. Barkov stripped of C. Tkachuk traded

It has nothing to do with the Leafs’ bottom 6, and everything to do with what’s best for his long term development.

I don’t watch junior hockey so I don’t have an opinion on if this kid should be on the Leafs or the Marlies next year, but I would have no problem if they decide to send him to the AHL and give him 18 minutes a night, with PP1 time.

- Atomic Wedgie

Not allowed to play in the AHL due to CHL rules. Not until he is 20.

He can’t play in the AHL next year apparently due to his age. So it’s NHL or Juniors. I don’t understand that rule at all?

Found this online - Cowan is still only 18 years old and won't turn 20 until May of 2025, meaning he's not eligible for the AHL next season.

I do hope if he makes the roster that they release him for world jrs. He could be a captain
- drexel

That would be ideal.

I’m a farm boy from the Brydges. Albeit, I was only 5 and 6. I still toiled in the garden and tobacco fields hunting Horn Worms, and suckering tobacco plants.

It is so the OHL teams have a better chance at keeping their players.

Like last season Minten was ready for the AHL and the structure would have probably been a preferred spot for him.

But his WHL team could retain him.

Oh hell we all do… his aunt lives across the street from where I jam these days in Strathroy, which is where Easton was born btw not brydges… that would be impressive since that town doesn’t even have a hospital lol

Next time I’m over at practice I’ll go ask his aunt, who’ve I known since highschool, whereabouts his parents live. Anymore anyone who only owns one farm has a normal job and they just rent it out.

A lot of the talking heads (ex players) think he’s on the roster next year, they think he’s that good, so we’ll see.
- shack67

He can but the Knights could be set up to make an even bigger run at mem cup next year. He likely moves but I am sure the Leafs are comfortable with him developing under Hunter.

Oh hell yeah… brydges is to the south east end of the Sydenham in strath all has a poop ton of sand soil and it’s still very much that. My family’s spots are to the north end of strath, heading towards parkhill, and that’s where it’s primarily clay so it’s corn, beans, wheat, etc

Anyone who thinks Cowan is ready for the Leafs, ought to watch some of the OHL championship games.
The kid is strong for his size, and the motor never stops, but he is a lot smaller than most of the kids he's playing against. And that's in the OHL.
He got creamed pretty good in the last game, by a guy that would be considered average size at best in the NHL. Let him grow a bit.

Quenville should never be an option

He and the rest of the Chicago management team should be done for good

Easton Cowan is the dealiio

Lots of changes to come
Keef out
Marner gone
Berube in
And sign Montour
Re sign Jones
I could live with a Jones Woll combo

- Koots 33

Leafs will require a 3rd. Either a true 1 or 1B.
Woll is a brittle, I hoping he's not but he get injured and then he's out for a while.
Can they sign Brossoit 3yrs/8m with a cap hit of 2.667

He’s a whole 2” below average nhl height and only about 14lbs down from average nhl weight.

Even studs like Matthews get lowered from time to time, it’s just part of the game.

Thing is, he's not in any way Marner. He doesn't pull up from contact, or have that slippery ability to avoid hits. If anything, he puts himself in position to get hit more. He's even more fearless than Robertson, who gets injured because of his play style.
And yes, I'm literally saying he should be held back to protect himself. He plays a style that will get him killed at the NHL level.

And we should all be pretty excited for him not to get killed, because he's going to be good..

That’s nothing more than your opinion. Does not make it true.

Yes and I have watched 57 games and counting. He looks great, not a sure thing for next year. Time will tell.
