I think Benson is good at hockey but ffs it is so tiring reading posts crying about prospects being the saviors. Homie is bang on about Benson not being valuable for very large stretches of the season

It doesn't matter that he was 18. They were expected to be a playoff team and didn't make it. Weren't even close despite appearing close at times. No 18 19 or 20 year old in this organization is coming to save us

Benson should be a very good two elite offense player in this league if he projects.

He did very little to help the Buffalo Sabres win last year

There is no reality in which DeBrincat was "awful" in 2022-23.

He was -2.7% XGF rel with 27 actual goals.

His finishing alone made him a + player.

The year Olofsson scored 28 we knew he was an extremely flawed player.

Debrincant had a much better year this year, he was meh at best in Ottawa

I didn't say it would lead to less points, kids need to learn to play consistent hockey. His Leadership could do wonders for those 2 kids and help the whole team. And could help with having less goals scored against us. Points are great, but playing good consistent Hockey will lead to that and Wins.
