“ We talk internally almost every day,’’ Zito told FHN on Tuesday morning. “For me, in my own head, there are lots of sleepless nights doing math in my head. Lots of times, I get up in the middle of the night and grab an Excel spreadsheet saying ‘will this work? What about this?’ There are just so many moving parts.”
“But I am positive. I do not think it is crazy for me to think that good players want to play here. Guys know they can make more money somewhere else — but not that much more.’’

https://floridahockeynow....lorida-panthers-together/

(Besides rhino and Montour) “The Panthers also have a number of other players such as Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Kevin Stenlund, Dmitry Kulikov, Ryan Lomberg, Steven Lorentz, Kyle Okposo, and Vladimir Tarasenko who are free agents following this season.”

Can you imagine what Buffalo could be if they actually did something with the waterfront instead of green/brown space.

Granato and his country club locker room.

Then add in

Okposo - who admitted to mailing it in, in November.

Tuch - who cried about the fans on a podcast and couldn’t even salute the fans after a win.

I’m sure Erik Johnson was annoying after he was benched and brandished from the Sabres until he was traded. Magically he was “sick” for 3 weeks 😂

Cozens might have been poop just as much as Skinner last year but he faced the media. He didn't bull poop answers and he wasn't smiling when we fvckin lost.

Guy put his heart out on the ice this year. I'll take those guys over Skinner every fvckin day

can we find a few winners instead of these losing multimillionaires?

the 2024 undersized forward will be our savior, probably Konsta Helenius

You realize that players most times are requested to take media questions. The players don’t random think to themselves “hey I want to talk to the media today.”

So you don’t know if skinner said no. If he did, Buffalo media would’ve cried about it.

Paul ham and Harrington have gone on twitter saying “player X ran away” or “player x declined an interview.”

>>> So let me throw out a trade package: 11th overall, 2025 second-round pick, and Peyton Krebs. If they don’t want Krebs, add in Isak Rosen or Noah Ostlund. The Lightning can select a B-tier prospect to replace the 2025 second-round pick if they so desire.
- kingcong39

I assume Cirelli is the trade return (Hagel was referenced as well in the previous post).

If I'm Brisbois I have a couple priorities:
1) get Stamkos on a 2 or 3 year deal, he can take the 2C role Cirelli played at times, while Paul stays in the 3C role
2) resign DuClair to take the 1LW spot

Stammer is projected by EH at 3 x $8.4m...but I suspect he gives a hometown discount not factored in their projection. 3 x $7.5m
DuClaire is projected at 5 x $5.45m

That chews up ~$13m of $5.0m Cap space...they need to find another $8m before other resignings to round out the roster. Cirelli is $6.25m and a fill-in could be Tanner Jeannot @$2.6m a 4th line LW with grit who has decent possession metrics given high defensive zone starts.

Brisbois likely would like to get younger, have NHL prospect ready for the 2025-2026 season and reclaim a decent draft pick in a depleted pool of them.

Your proposed trade of '24-11OA, Ostlund and '25-2nd checks several of those boxes, especially having Ostlund at C in the Pipeline.

Cirelli fills that 3C opening rather nicely for Buffalo, Jeannot fills an opening for a year and good regain that '25-2nd at the TDL from a team looking for grit at PO time.

Adams still should make the call

That’s how beane got diggs a few years ago. Diggs tweeted and beane called that day

- Sabretooth9

That's exactly what I said. Call and learn more.

There's red flag here, there were red flags for Skinner, there were red flag for Diggs. If Carolina wants to trade you something, be very careful. They are better at this.

I'm with all this, but doubt TB moves on from Jeannot. They paid a boat load to the Preds for him and he just hasn't returned to his rookie year form since. That would be an ultimate buy low, not sure they'd be willing to swap him out for scraps or as an add in.

What do you want the city to do?

There is nothing wrong with green space. In fact id argue next to the water is where green space should be

Brown space I agree sucks. Its just as bad as the 190 mirroring one of the greatest rivers in the world from Buffalo to the falls

Ya, they way over paid.
Good GM's abide by the "ya gotta know when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em" mantra.
Who else are they going to deal with that type of Cap Hit to open space?
There isn't anybody else...Hagel is on a steal of a contract with his production.

If Eiserman is there, I'd gamble on him...he is a finisher, something that doesn't come along often, nor do the Sabres have enough of...and I've been on the Yakemchuck tra8n for a couple of months now.

some thoughts.

-no way duclair gets that contract. just no way. overall point of ions post still holds, with the need for space and the 6-7M contract stammer takes.

-cirelli offers buffalo exactly what they wanted when they sent mittelstadt away for byram. they wanted to change the identity in the middle 6 and that starts at C. cirelli gives you that.

-11OA, Ostlund and a 2nd is probably fair compensation. Tampa gets an A center prospect 2 years into his development, a great first round pick who can start picking up minutes in two years when they start their roster turnover.

-with no picks in the first two rounds for the next two years, this should be a highly tempting option for them. and the sabres get a lifer middle 6 C who can spot for cozens or thompson. this is a no brainer for buffalo.

same.

our premier D pool needs work. With barely enough long term room for the likes of Rosen, Kulich and Savoie, I could care less about adding another winger.

Use it on a D or a trade. Trade 1st.
