It was 39's ... I was merely adding some meat on the bone.

If Adams hasn't called Brisbois by 4:00 yesterday, he is missing another Bat signal.

Its funny I was talking with a buddy yesterday about how the playoffs will be over in a few weeks and im not sure if im excited to find out what happens or terrified nothing happens this offseason

In reality it has already started for the sabres and If nothing big happens adams shouldn't make it to the season opener

Ya, they way over paid.
Good GM's abide by the "ya gotta know when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em" mantra.
Who else are they going to deal with that type of Cap Hit to open space?
There isn't anybody else...Hagel is on a steal of a contract with his production.

Personally, I still think Stammer is moving on, but who knows. I'm sure they want him to retire a Bolt.

Known as Riparian Buffers. More prevalent in what are considered High Quality/Exceptional Value watersheds. I do not know what classification the Niagara River is, but fairly certain there is a pretty large water treatment plant inlet somewhere in Grand Island maybe? i toured it when i was at UB. I'm not familiar with NY Permitting, but Riparian Buffers for HQ/EV watersheds in the Commonwealth of PA are required to be 150' in width. Riparian Buffers are appropriate for habitat and water quality along water bodies. Redevelopment sites are locations to take advantage of waterfront development because whatever you're putting in is probably an improvement from what exists today. You are correct.

Also, one of my favorite things I learned from one of my Professors at UB re: the Great Lakes is A glass of water you drink in Buffalo has already been drank 5 times. If any of you have any kids that want to be a Civil Engineer and want to know where to go to school, I highly recommend UB. it was more than 20 years ago for me, but many of the professors i had are still there. They have top notch structural professors from around the world for your kids that are smarter than me. I excelled in water resources and that staff is top notch.

My kids will not be civil engineers, at least not in land development, because i do not wish the pressure and stress on them that I have in my life.

some thoughts.

-no way duclair gets that contract. just no way. overall point of ions post still holds, with the need for space and the 6-7M contract stammer takes.

-cirelli offers buffalo exactly what they wanted when they sent mittelstadt away for byram. they wanted to change the identity in the middle 6 and that starts at C. cirelli gives you that.

-11OA, Ostlund and a 2nd is probably fair compensation. Tampa gets an A center prospect 2 years into his development, a great first round pick who can start picking up minutes in two years when they start their roster turnover.

-with no picks in the first two rounds for the next two years, this should be a highly tempting option for them. and the sabres get a lifer middle 6 C who can spot for cozens or thompson. this is a no brainer for buffalo.

- TheSabresTaco

If Adams could pull that trade off AND manage to get rid of Skinner's $9m contract to remake the Top6

"Now, McDonagh is excited to have another go-round with his former teammates. When he called Stamkos, the Lightning captain was just getting off the ice after skating with Nikita Kucherov, the two working out three weeks since being eliminated from the postseason by the Panthers."

May want to re-think that

Interesting. Im not sure about any of that lol

As far as recreational space goes I think they've done a decent job and are continuing to add to the outer harbor. I love being down by the water and the city should make as much access as possible. Canalside is nice too but I feel its becoming a bit crammed as well

Theyve ruined the concert series though. I started going for shows on Thursdays when it was still at the square and knew it would never be the same when they moved it to Canalside. It was solid for a few years there too but now its totally done for. 60 70 80 bucks to see maybe 1 or 2 shows a summer at the new outer harbor place is not what im into. Used to be a weekly attendee no matter who was playing

The city has alienated the people who made that possible in the first place

I so miss the Thursday concert series, even at Canalside. It wasn't the same but still a great summertime activity. Can't believe how many great shows I saw for free when it was at the square.
Anyone with half a brain knew the outer harbor location was a bad idea just for the traffic, but they did it anyways. Then they reduced the number of tickets to sell there due to, you guessed it, traffic

Stamkos can train with whoever, doesn't surprise me. Doesn't mean Tampa can come up with enough change to make him stay.

Adams ain't (frank)ing around this year boys:

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Forward Zemgus Girgensons is returning to the Buffalo Sabres for a 11th season after signing a one-year, $4.5 million contract Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Girgensons is the team’s longest-serving active player and was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next month.

Despite extending their NHL-record postseason drought to a 13th consecutive season, the Sabres had 39 wins, the last time they made the playoffs. Buffalo finished 12th in the Eastern Conference standings, falling short of making the playoffs.

Girgensons, who is from Latvia, was selected by the Sabres in the first round of the 2012 draft, and he has established himself as a valuable checking-line forward.

He’s coming off a season in which he had 8 goals and 6 assists in 63 games. Overall, Girgensons has 89 goals and 188 points in 688 career games, which rank 13th on the team list.

I assume Cirelli is the trade return (Hagel was referenced as well in the previous post).

If I'm Brisbois I have a couple priorities:
1) get Stamkos on a 2 or 3 year deal, he can take the 2C role Cirelli played at times, while Paul stays in the 3C role
2) resign DuClair to take the 1LW spot

Stammer is projected by EH at 3 x $8.4m...but I suspect he gives a hometown discount not factored in their projection. 3 x $7.5m
DuClaire is projected at 5 x $5.45m

That chews up ~$13m of $5.0m Cap space...they need to find another $8m before other resignings to round out the roster. Cirelli is $6.25m and a fill-in could be Tanner Jeannot @$2.6m a 4th line LW with grit who has decent possession metrics given high defensive zone starts.

Brisbois likely would like to get younger, have NHL prospect ready for the 2025-2026 season and reclaim a decent draft pick in a depleted pool of them.

Your proposed trade of '24-11OA, Ostlund and '25-2nd checks several of those boxes, especially having Ostlund at C in the Pipeline.

Cirelli fills that 3C opening rather nicely for Buffalo, Jeannot fills an opening for a year and good regain that '25-2nd at the TDL from a team looking for grit at PO time.

- IonSabres

I'd update the 1st from 2024 to 2025, with conditions, like they do with everyone else, if Ostlund is the key prospect.

Interesting that the 2nd most likely deal Evolving Hockey has for Stamkos is one season at $3.8M.

I could see that happening.

Its unfortunate. I know there is alot of music to be heard in this town but the square/early days of canalside were pretty unique.

Couple that with the art park shows and for less than 100 bucks a week you could drink lots of beer and see live music Tuesday-thursday

That's exactly what I said. Call and learn more.

There's red flag here, there were red flags for Skinner, there were red flag for Diggs. If Carolina wants to trade you something, be very careful. They are better at this.

- Lunaion

Be wary, yes, but let's not act like their witch doctor shaman who are never wrong.

More importantly, the clip from the GM you shared only confirmed what anybody who is logical already knew: They're not trading Necas unless it's a big overpayment.

The entire damn waterfront is green and brown space. It doesn’t generate anything for the city in revenue.

There is nothing wrong with green space, if you know it was used for more than 4 months a year. You need green space yes, but not that much.

This city has an asset that very few have and we have one actual restaurant on the water.

It’s terrible.

It's not so much if they want him, but whether he's okay taking a massive discount and short term deal to stay. I've stepped off wanting him in Buffalo, too expensive and not enough impact, there are better options. But any team would offer him more than $3.8M on a 1YR to come barring the cap space nightmare teams.

Adams is in NYC now, to convince Okposo to sign with Buffalo again while he's playing in the playoffs!

My sauce said Adams is constructing a custom bubble machine for him to close the deal.

All the plans will change once Benson is 20 years old, Adams is desperate to get this done while Benson is a teenager, he needs to learn from the greats.
