No, he is not Nikita Kucherov, one of the best players in the history of the game. That being said, I certainly think he's going to be a good player in the NHL, despite his somewhat smaller stature.

His dump ins, in the NHL will be elite

I think he's going to really surprise you, but time will tell. His passing could become elite, he really distributes the puck really well. He's also got a fantastic shot that will only get better over time.

Rosen was touted as a project player with a high ceiling. I'd say that's still a fair assessment to this day. He was always going to take longer than we liked.

Furthermore, no one around him has done anything either. If we're mad at the pick, it's basically, "why didn't you see Wyatt Johnston like no one else did either" and leaving it at that. I doubt JJ Moser at 14 would've been considered anything but sheer luck.

Who's a really hard nosed RHD we can trade that pick for? That's what has me leaning towards taking it, if he's there, he's a type of player we really don't have.
- QuinnFan

Don't have to trade the pick for that, go get Hakanpaa. I have no problem taking him. But there's gonna be some good Hockey players available it's looking like in the Trade market.

No clue Laine was that bald

Rosen is ass - because he is a smaller player with no elite skills. You are hoping he is a mid 6 forward in the NHL at best.

We'll see. I think we're making the playoffs next year without making any moves. Upgrading to Ruff was enough. Everything else will be gravy.

I'm actually excited for this summer. Adams has his ass in the hot seat now. He's going to make some moves.

What teams do you see regressing for the Sabres to jump?

What about a 6'6" 210lb center, ranked at 23, how much of a separation is a 23rd ranked player over the 11th ranked player?

Rosen - 14OA
Cossa next, hasn't played a game
Othmann next, has played 3 with no points but a slightly better AHL point average
Then Bolduc, who has more NHL games (25) but a worse AHL point average
Lucius - No games
Svechkov - No games
Wallstedt 3 games and didn't go well
Lysell - Nada
Bourgault - Nada
WHY DIDN"T WE JUST DRAFT WYATT <---- we are here
No one past Wyatt is looking much better than that. AKA the class is still very undetermined.

He suggested taking Letourneau who is a project of a player. At 11 none the less.

He talks out of his ass... which just so happens to be on his face and looks like his mouth.

I get why he wants a guy with size, just not particularly him IMO. I think Washy just wants to see us do well and has some different views on how to accomplish that. We're all talking out our asses at the end of the day.

I'd say we just need to have patience with the prospects we do draft, instead of rushing them. But good teams do tend to trade picks to get over the top, which we seemingly refuse to do. So I get it. In Rosen's case, I'm just pretty bullish because I've seen glimpses of a real dominant player. Very shifty. Catches opposing teams off guard with nice moves to the net, not a perimeter player like a lot of the softer Euros. I really, really think he's going to be a good player and just needs more time. 50pts in the AHL isn't a "he's a bust" production number.

Most at 11 are going to take 2-3 years IMO. Iginla, Lindstrom, Buium and other guys who will likely go higher are the ones that will be 1 and done I'd wager. Hopefully one of those guys falls and we get lucky like last year.

Dean Letourneau isn't even in the group after that group..

2-3 years isn't a project either. Thats normal.

Letourneau is going to USHL next year then a year in college. He's at the minimum 3 years away. And by the looks of it, he has a lot of work to do.

Playing top line minutes and special teams, is he getting that in Buffalo?

What does his role look like on the third line in the NHL?
