Agreed. 1 x $3.25m seems fair as a prove it deal based on really 2-1/2 months of very good performance and 3-1/2 months of less than average play. Hell, I'd even go 1 x $4m so as not to "insult" him, but give the team an out if he doesn't find consistentcy at above average performance levels. No way I'm doing a long term deal and locking themselves es into a bad contract for many years.

I think you need to entice Philly to move him. He has RFA control and I think it's easy to assume that any acquiring team of a pending RFA is going to give that player multiple years. Plenty of history showing that trend.

So Cates for a 2nd, ok. Better players received less. But if that 2nd is 2026, I think you're ok, plus Krebs.

Then you have what may be a bidding war for Konecny.

11OA is probably a steep price to pay for a 1 year rental without that assurance that he'll sign, or a sign and trade. Adding Kulich on top of that is probably overkill. I think you could get away with sending a lesser prospect.

But to guarantee that sign and trade, pay the price and move on.

Love Konecny, not so sure about Cates...he seems like a Krebs for Cates straight up deal. Kulich, 2024 1st and 2026 2nd for Konecny...I'd want to keep that '24-11thOA pick and insert another prospect.

I think he's more valuable to this particular team than most based on the roles we need to fill.

I think the metrics are possibly inflated but his play style matches.

He's a solid puck hound/positional guy and he can skate well.
