I'm bored at work so here's a survey:
As far as the Lindy hiring, which category to you fall in:
-Terrible idea, what are they thinking?
-Ok idea, but I think they could have done better
-Playoffs here we come! - Buffalo--Sabres
The perennial optimist in me says Playoffs here we come, the Sabres fan says we should've hired Berube instead. So somewhere between the latter two. |

You'll see the light of my genius eventually.
Acquiring a Top 6 player like Konecny serves to eliminate an open F position in the Top 9, rendering Kulich (and Rosen) redundant for the next several seasons. That assumes of course that Adams chooses to keep JJP and Quinn, while riding the Skinner train for another season or 2.
The above strategy allows Adams to keep the player selected with the '24-11thOA as a cheep replacement player in ~3 season on an ELC when Quinn and Peterka bridge deals have expired. Trust me, they will need them. |

Did you know that this years 1st round pick by the Sabres will be 18 years old? Since the NHL is a development league, it's best to get them in young. - washedup20
Might be 17. |

And add Joshua or Trenin and you have hit 3 Areas on need.
Edit: And it leaves you enough to go play in the FA RD Market |

If his name wasn't lindy ruff everyone would be like omg we got that guy
Does it translate to the playoffs? I think with a few solid offseason additions and upl continuing his play, yes
Really they should be swinging big and try to take as much advantage as they can of the kick in the ass a new coach brings |

Philly was better than Buffalo last year and has 2 outstanding prospects about to make the jump. Are they really looking to sell off?

Sabres do the safe, comfortable thing again.
That's on the org, not Lindy. Perfectly reasonable hire, but the circumstances are just kind of lame.

the big question
does coaching along make us a better team than the bruins, tampa or leafs
I doubt it
we need to ice a team that can compete for a cup, not one that is trying to get to 4th in the division
either the bar is too low or the gm thinks more of his prospects/young players than he should |

side note, if you like kfc cole slaw, I found a perfect one for home
I double the liquid and used an entire large cabbage
½ cup mayonnaise
⅓ cup white sugar
¼ cup milk
2 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
1 ½ tablespoons vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
9 ½ cups shredded cabbage
½ cup grated carrots
¼ cup minced sweet onion
Directions
Whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, milk, lemon juice, vinegar, and salt and pepper in a large bowl.
Toss the cabbage, carrots, and onion into the dressing; mix well. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or up to overnight before serving. |

What’s story with Atkinson? Injuries?
Am I misremembering in thinking that he doesn’t want to be on a Tortorella coached team? |
