ive said this many times

Sorry I only pop in once in a while. There seems to be a lot of contradictory stuff being said. Our players are no good until we bring up Keefe and suddenly his record was good only because our players are so good.

also Cup as a player, 2 selkes and a Jack Adams. Might be good teacher for AM34
- drexel

I agree he can make Matthews even better. 34 is already far ahead as 2 way centre than Rod at this point on career. It took 18 seasons (I believe) fir Rod to get a nomination (ended up winning back to back) and only took Matthews 8.

I’m of the opinion that a great goalkeeper makes a great coach. Rod might have been the best coach left in the playoffs but Andersen put a stop to that.

Berube may be the front runner.
But if you cant understand why the leafs would want rod, then....i dont know what to tell ya

That pretty much explains why you're often wrong

:😜

He’s the shiny toy.

Canes have had good players for awhile, but never got over the hump.

I don’t hate RBA or anything, I just don’t see why he’s so great.

I don’t want another players coach.

Then why are we wanting trades to be made? If it was the coaching that was at fault we should be running it back with a new coach.
- shack67

Coaching was part of the problem

Huh? Sorry man - re read what I wrote there…or you might be responding to wrong post?

The post you are responding to:

A) had no mention of Reaves. Zero.
B) Agreed that Rod would be a good mentor for 34. Also mentioned how good it could be considering 34 is already a better 2 way centre than Rod was at this stage in their careers.

I’m thinking you clicked my post by mistake eh

- Big23Questions

my point was RBA has skills to teach. Berubes game skills only translate to Reaves

Perhaps it was. I don’t understand the game enough to see what a coach could be doing wrong. But even a buffoon like me can see that the guy between the pipes can cost a good coach his job.

The only time I can recall cursing a coach is when Randy Carlisle didn’t call a timeout to settle the boys down against the Bruins.

Agreed for the most part man (re; goalie can cost jobs). There is probably a link between Jack Adam nominees/winners and having either a legit starter or a guy who had a crazy season. The crazy season situation usually involves solid defence core as well.

best. Coach. Pay closer attention. I was responding to a post about Jack Adams winners having great goalies. Usually the case I agree.

It sounds like we’re signing Berube anyway so we’ll have the toughest coach in the league.
