I agree the situation is very fishy to say the least. The argument is when does a player who plays with an injury becomes too injured to play. I remember Ray Emery playing with the Flyers. He was playing regularly then he stopped playing and quickly announced he would need hip replacement surgery. At the time, it was shocking when it was announced. Not suggesting this is what is happening with Johansen.
