it's wild turkey 101.

i think we were talking about old grand dad the other day. i actually wish i had some of that right now but there's no use replenishing until i get home. i have a selection of elijah craig, the wild turkey 101, a jug of four roses yellow label, and a jug of makers mark which is unopened and i might give as a gift (it's not my favorite). i also keep a bottle of bombay sapphire around.

that is my go-to gin for mixing, it's very versatile.

also I was disappointed to see this doesn't look like a jug at all

it just looks like it was used as a violent buttfiller.

by jug i just meant the big bottle (1.75 liter). the four roses and the wild turkey are the big boys. the others are the normal 750 ml bottles.

i think they call those growlers down here.

supposedly, one of the liquor stores i used to frequent when i lived in bellmawr had a secret growler room upstairs. you had to know about it to know about it and they would take you to the hidden growler room and fill jugs for you from the current selection. i guess it was illegal for them to be doing that or something.

that's cool, sounds like some sort of "speak easy" from back in the day.

I think they still have those sometimes in Montreal and Quebec city, it's nothing illegal but they plan spirit-tasting events in undisclosed locations just for the fun of it.

pat, i stopped burning the outside of my steaks but i'm still perfecting how to broil them so they'll be red inside but taste a little grilled on the outside.

i just did a great job with something called a beef rib club steak. it's pretty good. i'm excited.

my sides are corn and bourbon.

i would like a bourbon tasting.

i'd also like a gin tasting but i think for the opposite reason of everyone else, i am searching or the driest, most junipery, bitter gin i can find.

I'm guessing that's why you like the bombay..? like I was saying I use it all the time for mixing but personally I find it's too bland to enjoy it straight or on the rocks.
