Hey ses, you know what it is, we haven't had a player like that for a long time. Cant blame us - mdw7413
Hey mdw, hope all is well?
I can understand it mdw. I've just seen too many horror stories about ex fighters and if it's my call. I ban fighting. These players are too big and strong today and it's not worth the long-term risk.

Honestly, I don't even want him fighting, just play hard and hit everything and be defensively responsible.

Yeah, and if my hawks had mcdavid, draiseitl, crosby and mckinnon they would make the playoffs. Stop with the ifs… lot of ifs from the other side also. You lost, suck it up. - LFS

I have no issues with fighting. I have an issue with goons out there to fight for the sake of fighting. But if two players get heated, I'd rather they punch each other a few times and get the aggression out rather than let the aggression build and use their sticks.

Trying to put my undying hatred for the Rangers aside, I'll give my synopsis of the game.
Yes, the Rangers only lost two non-EN goals, and they had a ton of chances to get on the board, the posts could have gone either way. So last night, statistically, they were it in.
But taking a step back from the stat sheet, the ice was heavily tilted in Florida's advantage for most of the first 2 periods. Just think about how dead silent MSG was last night; the team had nothing to get their fans excited about. Florida seemed to win every 50-50 battle, and were battering the Rangers every chance they had. Aside from a first 5 minutes of the 2nd and last 10 minutes of the 3rd, the Rangers had absolutely nothing going.
Now, that said, it WAS just a 2-goal game despite all of that. Deflection or not, Sheshterkin makes the save on the first goal 97% of the time. Then it basically comes down to a lucky (or unlucky) bounce. So even thought he Rangers got (IMO) heavily outplayed, they didn't get blown out on the scoresheet. If they get the bounce instead of Florida, we're heading to OT.
Going in, I did pick Florida to win, but the Rangers have a ton of talent. As a lot of you said, they need that talent to lead the way. If the talent can break through, they have a fighting chance. If not, this will be a short series.
Also, as an aside: If Fox keeps skating like that, he's gonna get carried off the ice at some point because they are just smashing him every chance they get and he can't get away.
Source question: do request have the trolls removed or let them continue to make fools of themselves while their teams are on the golf courses? I must have missed us going to their blogs to troll but please tell if I missed us doing so - airjan23
Not bothering me. I mean, I guess it does, but not in a way that I need them reported to the authorities! lol

Yeah, pretty much how I saw it. Rangers definitely had chances to win the game, but FL won all most all the board battles and forecheck. Rangers will have to support each other with quick passes and move up the ice as a unit. And the big names have to score

Agreed Florida was the better team but don’t think they dominated. Just a lot of puck possession with little offense. They were noticeable bc of their forecheck and defensive play. No margine for error and Bob was better than Igor. They executed better too

The thing is, the Rangers play a style that's opportunistic and relies on capitalizing on the chances they get. They don't rely on carrying play for 60 minutes so I'm not concerned about that aspect of your post. They let in 2 goals that are unlikely to happen again, plus an empty netter, and hit a number of posts and missed on a few breakaways.
The Rangers can win this series playing exactly as they did last night. That's not to say there's not room for improvement, but by no means did last night make me question if the Rangers can win this series.
What did annoy me was at the end of the game when it was out of reach, Florida was still playing physical and setting the stage for Game 2, and there was absolutely no push back from the Rangers. Whether it is Rempe or someone else, this team needs to stand up for themselves against Florida, which is something they have done this season, just not last night.
Yeah, remember when the Rangers almost moved to Salt Lake City because no one would support the team and actually pay to go see them? - jmatchett383
I'm sorry you people are a bunch sheep. Constantly supporting loser franchises that accomplish nothing hidden behind "tradition." Loser mentality. Classic Philly sports fan.

Jan, you are exempt from these blanket statements.
I've reached the conclusion that your blood wouldn't boil if you were thrown into a vat of liquid hot magma. And I doubt your heartrate would jump if you were confronted by sharks with frickin' lazer beams attached to their heads!!

Bunch of sheep? You come in specifically to create a reaction and when someone who is not even a Rangers fan responds, you then double down? Yes, tradition. We all know how many Cups we have won and haven’t won. Yet that doesn’t change the heart and fabric of the fan base. But hey, keep trolling if that is what gets you through the night.

Leave the trolls, refreshing to have stupid comments from other teams fans for a change.

Fighting has become WWE like. I liked when a player like Gillies did not even like to fight, but he did it to stick up for the team and it served a purpose.
