Reading some of the posts reminded me of one of our local watering holes in past years. Went there a million times after the wife and I were first married.

Never really went back much in the last twenty years , but stopped for lunch two years ago.

Was shocked when I recognized the waitress who served us. I asked her how long she had worked there. 45 years and the only job she ever had.

Her husband had retired but she just wasn't ready to go. Loved the people too much she said.

So as we chatted, she said "do you remember when they had a smoking section and a non- smoking section separated by absolutely nothing."

Yup. More than anything that could be where Keefe & co. failed this team. Hopefully Berube can instill that level of ethic. Look if Marner had that work ethic there is not a soul in Toronto that would want him to go. Same for Nylander.

Given the NMCs and the way things go, I'm willing to bet we see what Berube can do with all of them.

I'm totally 50/50 on a big move being made. Wouldn't be surprised either way. Also it does feel a little bit of "change for the sake of change" with a trade of a core player.
