It wasn't drafting ineptitude, per se. It was reported that a bunch of their scouts weren't actually doing their jobs and, well, scouting, and that they were taking advantage of the owners in that regard.

I can't answer that.

It was dishonesty and stealing, basically. Saying they were on scouting trips when they weren't. I may have heard something about false expense reports (I could be wrong on that). Pretty sure the News reported on it. Not sure who was the head scout at the time and why he wasn't canned, as well (or maybe he was?).

And you're right to bash the owners, but I don't think the "amount" of scouts matters. At least, I don't.

Having more eyes watching kids play hockey in dank, dark rinks in the foothills of Croatia against middling talent doesn't up the odds vs watching kids playing against top tier talent in the CHL, SEL, etc and so on, imo.

valid question. it's impossible to pull up a scouting record for these guys, how much input they have into each player picked. it's all speculation. it's fair to ask why each has lasted so long, and why forton kept getting promoted.

Botterill was the GM (no poop) but as the GM he oversees his staff. It is entirely possible that he was fired with all those scouts in part because of this negligence. Stephen Greely and Randy Sexton were also fired and I guess Greely was a jerkoff. Jeff Crisp was the Assistant Director and Ryan Jankowski was the Director.
