Florida is obviously loaded with talent, but they're also a textbook case of hard work and sticking to their system.

They play with a poop load of speed.

Good breakouts
Good transition game

If they ever dump the puck in …. A panthers player will get it. (The Sabres rarely ever win that puck battle)

I’ve been preaching I want a team with speed and skill.

Washed up and buff36 want more toughness and slow players

Then I get told by both of them I’m an idiot.

- Sabretooth9

Cause you are a Idiot, you have NO clue what type of player I want by you consistently saying this Crap. And I will keep calling you a Idiot because of your stupid remarks.

“I don’t know how it was in Buffalo, but ever since he came here, he’s been one of those perfect players that can do it all,” Barkov said. “He plays any situation on the ice. He takes big faceoffs. Power play. PK. Five-on-five. He can do it all at an elite level. It’s fun to play with that guy.”

From an interesting article in the Athletic about the skunk

“He’s like Barkov,” Maurice said. “They don’t have games where you wonder where their heads are defensively. They just don’t. That’s their starting point, always. You have to be on the ice with him to fully appreciate it. It’s almost like you have to be here and you have to watch every game and sometimes you need to be in the building to see it, because of the way the cameras change. The long stack of right decisions he makes every time.

Maurice's comments are interesting and makes me wonder who in the Sabres Front Office thinks this way.

Yet, on the other hand, since Boss34 was the know-it-all STH sitting in the stands and hated everything about Skunk, Maurice is obviously an idiot. IDIOT I tell ya.

We need to go out and get some Knuckle draggers after watching the Playoffs. Guys that are able to play 5 minutes and add nothing to the Team. Speed and Tenacity, Puck pressure and Heavy Forecheck aren't the game anymore.

He's everything this team needs in a top line player with or without 50 goal seasons

Also the type of player who will get better throughout his entire career. He was drafted for hockey IQ and two way playmaking. He was really starting to show it last half of his last season here then he was gone

you need both

banging on a 4th liner every day makes no sense when dealing with 1 goal games and 3 consecutive ot games though, makes you look like one of those people

Any owner, at the end of the day, should be involved. It's his/her/their money.

They should never be calling the shots on trades, draft picks, etc, however.

I'd bet that he's much less involved since Kim got sick. We'll see if that translates to better results.

But you're right, there's also an inexperienced GM at the helm. And I'm convinced that it's Kevy-poo's team, now. He's either going to reap the rewards or hang himself.

- Powerslave

What makes you think it hasn't been Adams team the entire time?

He's overly amenable to what others say or tell him to do, and he seems that way with staff and the players.

Can't be that way and be successful.

He is famously collaborative. He traded for Greenway because Don liked him, he signed Eakin because Ralph liked him, he lets Forton handle the draft. Terry loves the obviously amazing Zemgus Girgensons, so he's been here for 36 seasons.

Has Adams ever had his own vision for the team? Being collaborative is good but does Adams actually have a vision? I really don't think so other than PWWTBH. If someone asks Kevyn Adams what his vision for the team is, you'll get some version of:

"That's a great question, Timmy. You know, we want people who are excited to put on that sweater and play hard for this team."

Rarely will you get anything resembling style of play or body comp or anything like that.

- Hank Balling

Famously collaborative sounds like pushover to me.

We ought to have a daily reminder that playing with speed is not the same thing as being fast so sabretoothless can quit his poor troll job

Barkov reinhart tkachuk Bennett ekblad none of them are burners

Florida doesn't play with speed and skill they grind you to a pulp and have a handful of high end players with skill who are relentless and score around the net

Ehlers Tage Kane
JJP. Tavares Tuch
Benson. Cozens. Quinn
Joshua. Krebs. Greenway

Byram Dahlin
Power Samuelsson
Johnson Cliffy
Bryson

UPL
Levi

3 way trade needed to reduce Cap Hit on Skinner's contract in trade with Toronto for Trades. Adams to pony-up future draft puck to do so.

Ehler's acquired for 2025-2nd and Kulich, and verbal Agr on extension.

That team could do some damage

Do I think he's done a good job? It's a mixed bag.

He rebuilt the pipeline, which was needed. Everyone (not just Sabres fans) raves about our prospect pool. He's neglected the NHL team at times. Should've gotten a real goalie for 22-23. Should've gotten someone in here when Quinn went down.

But like you said earlier, he's inexperienced. That's not his fault. That's on Pegula. Adams was thrust into a very difficult situation. Hired to be the hatchet man to fire a bunch of Sabres employees? That's a terrible spot to be put in.

I agree that he needs to go out and get some "better" players. He's the GM. Obviously he's the only one that can do that, and hopefully all these supposed "conversations" he's had with other GMs start to pay dividends.

The time to start winning was yesterday.

- Powerslave

The prospect pool is fool's gold.

The biggest problem is they've only decided now is the time to begin trying to win, as if it's a light switch that can just be turned on.

Adams has done a good job with building the franchise talent level.

Granato last year did a terrible job using it.

Adams needs to make more mitts / Bryan trades that help this team.

It’s no longer acceptable to sign “veteran leaders” who absolutely suck and bring nothing to the team winning games.

Time to sign some of real talent or trade for it

- Sabretooth9

We already know the Mittelstadt for Byram trade is going to help the team?

Why was it ever acceptable to overpay poopty veteran players?

They have a terrific transition game and headman the puck quickly and accurately. They get on the forecheck relentlessly and force opponents to play in their own end quite a bit. And on the PP, they move the puck with players in motion.
Those are all attributes that the Sabres should look to implement.

It has been several decades, beside the '05 team that has that skill set.
