Not sure if it's good or bad, but they probably miss out on the entire top 20. Most of the money spent on those guys will look bad in a year or two.

Point - NHL UFA is generally awful.

Hard for it not to be. Peak is around 24. UFA is generally 27+. You're always signing guys on the wrong side.

one was a cup contender and the other was a bottom feeder

Guess I could have written more, but was implying guys who signed for some term and $.

Can find some value in 2nd and 3rd tiers. Opting to overpay your own 3rd tier guys is just being scared.

There's a mountain of evidence that Ehlers individually provides more positive impact per minute than Vatrano.

This is not me saying "no Vatrano". Ehlers is the better player, through and through.

How many on here would've been over the moon for most of those "value" signings? I bet not many. Hindsight, blah blah blah.

No one in here had Daniel Sprong on their radar.

Most would've thrown up at the prospect of Erod coming back. Yeah, he and his 12 goals look great on Florida. He's probably scoring 8 in Buffalo.

Bjugstad? There was exactly ONE poster in here who wanted him.

Yes, it's Kevyn's job to identify a player that might fit in here and have a good year. So, keep that in mind when they sign/trade for X player this summer that no one has on their radar like the 8 players you listed above.

Expected Buffalo pod is a good listen today. Chad just covered these.

IMO 3/4 C is their clear #1 need. Bottom 6 winger is second. I'd put D 3rd and I don't think they make a top 6 move.

G is a fascinating topic. I think they just go Levi. Doesn't seem like the biggest decision at first, but it could be the difference between playoffs or getting fired.
