He's high minute PK and low minute PP. Is that really a fair comparison? - Lunaion
A 44.8 xgf% at 5v5 alone is also dreadful.
There isn’t a picture you can paint that shows that Trouba was good at all in the postseason.
You can say that Lindgren was worse, but that’s a low bar.
The fact that one of Lindgren or Trouba was on the ice for nearly 80% of the Rangers 5v5 minutes and the results are what they were isn’t surprising.

He was better than the team. Not really jumping in to this, I didn't watch much of it. Was just curious what the numbers showed.
Rangers:
49% GF%
43.7% xGF
Trouba
47.6% GF
44.8% xGF

Sucks when you can't score goals - Buff36
I just cannot possibly come to the conclusion that making it to the conference finals, or cup finals, is the same as missing the playoffs, or worse, picking top 5 to 10.
I'll never agree with that. |

Trouba had a 37 xgf% all situations in the playoffs this year.
Only Ryan Lindgren and Barclay Goodrow were worse.
The Rangers had 51 xgf% when Trouba wasn’t on the ice. - Swedish_Jesus
In the Florida Series, he was decent before the Florida series. You can blame Trouba all you want, he's not the only player that played bad in the Florida series |

That is correct. Yet buff36 is defending Trouba. Just makes me laugh that people don’t get it - Sabretooth9
I am defending him because he Captained a Team to places we haven't been. He had a bad Florida series. He had a hand in getting to the ECF Finals |

I have no horse in this race. Here's the 5v5 for the playoffs.
Rangers:
49% GF%
43.7% xGF
Trouba
47.6% GF
44.8% xGF - Lunaion
Thanks, I know what his stats were, and I know he had a rough Series. But he's taken his Team as Captain and helped them go places we hope to get to. |

They’re (NYR fans) ready to include Zibanejad as a sweetener to take Trouba
or maybe it vice-versa |

The Rangers cup window just closed last night.
Making the playoffs was an expectation for them, losing again and the window closing for them is even worse then being irrelevant.
If the Bills lose in the wild card this year is it a success in your eyes ? |

Core is old and virtually unmovable.
Shesterkin is one year away from getting a big payday.
Not much in the form of youth. Being located in New York City can act as a saving grace to attract UFA’s but given where they are cap wise what big moves can they really make ?
Future looks bleak to me |

Chasing hits is cool - Sabretooth9
Got caught guessing where Bennett was going to move the puck. Horrible decision.
Rhino’s OT goal came after him leaving his position to try and force the puck on the wall. |

Looks like all their key guys are still under contract. If they bring back the same team next season, aren't they a cup contender?
Winning a cup is hard and they aren't the best team, but it sure seems like they are a contender.

Some Rangers fans would say President trophy contenders, but not Cup contenders.
They are a very good team, that is for sure. |

There D core is basically 26 or younger if they move Trouba, say they still got a few Years with a couple good moves. |

Got completely outclassed by Florida and
Were a Freddie game 6 meltdown away from Carolina forcing 7 in the previous series.
This was the best year for them to do it, and they came up empty handed |

Idk. Rooting for game 7 is all.
Either will present big challenges |
