Is Tage a 1C
- IonSabres

Barkov is miles above our Tage or Cozens
Reinhart is miles above any of our winger
Bobrovsky is miles above 6K
Panthers top 4 D is miles above our top 4
Panthers PK is miles above ours
Panthers PP is miles above ours
Panthers middle 6 is miles above ours

so if we fix the 4th line we have a chance

Yes cause Bob didn't have anything to say about it. Guy had 1 game in the last 5 with a save % under .925
- Buff36

Panthers system is executed extremely well, everyone plays a 200ft game.
Bob played great and made plenty of very good saves, however their team defense significantly limited opportunities for the Rags...who don't excel at 5v5 anyway. They relied on and died by their PP, as the Panthers shut it down.

They play the style I want the Sabres to implement. Very similar to Tampa's when they won their back-to-back Cups.

I think the Panthers bought in to Maurices system in part because the lost to the Bolts in the PO a couple years ago...they recognized they needed to play a complete game rather than rely on blowing opponents out. Similar in nature to the Bolts realizing they needed to play a 200ft game when CBJ knocked them out cleanly.

Gotta win the 1-0, 2-1 games and forget about trying to win 7- 1.
Are the Sabres smart enough to get it?

The Hockey News' Steve Warne has a request for pundits dabbling in conjecture over Brady Tkachuk's future with the Ottawa Senators: “Just stop.”

Warne was referring to a recent headline on 101 ESPN in St. Louis musing over whether Tkachuk was available, why a big move like that wasn't out of the question, and what type of return the Senators might get for him.

“Actually, it is completely out of the question,” wrote Warne. He cited Senators GM Steve Staios telling The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun there was no validity to such rumors. “We are building this team around Brady. His leadership and unique skill set are rare.”

Warne noted the four years remaining on Tkachuk's contract. He felt that any discussion of a trade becomes valid only if the Senators haven't worked out their kinks by the final year of his contract.

Wel0, there you have it!
When the GM says somebody "is safe", bam..look for a forthcoming article announcing the trade.!

Nah, they need the right system, then to buy into that system.
Donnie had no clue...he was perfect to build their confidence that they individually can compete in the NHL, just not a true nhl coach.

No, not at all.

Ranger fans continuing to make my point for me about trouba

If you can’t skate, can’t move the puck, and chase hits. You are irrelevant in the 2024 NHL.

Playoffs still showing you need to have skill and speed.

Sam Bennett. He hits but he has skills and can skate and play with speed.

Tkachuck - similar but a much higher skill level than Bennett.

Darnell Nurse is also being massively exposed this playoff run. Oiler fans can stand him.

He has 2 assistants and is like a -10 or something crazy.

Similar skill set to trouba. Cant pass. Can’t skate and is slow.

The pace of play the entire players has been really really fast compared to regular season

You are right about everything you said, but as someone who watches hockey as an entertainment outlet first, that style of play is not nearly as entertaining as when the Panthers deployed that super fast, super aggressive, trying to blow everyone out approach.

Yeah, but I think Buffalo can play a Faster style of what Florida does. Sabres need to find those complimentary players that fit it.

They've got a long ways to go before the roster is able to grind like Florida does.

When the opponent allows them, they look great.

When the opponent puts up any kind of fight, they all too often fold.

That's why they need those Complimentary players to push them past that folding part, keep grinding and working.

Nah we aren't going to consider back to back finals appearances or presidents trophies and conference finals runs successful

Were going to sit on our record long 13 year playoff drought and be thankful our cup window hasn't closed because half our roster isn't leaving

Yup, exactly.
Tkachuk had an interesting comment about it...something like, "it is hard to play, but we like to think it is harder to play against". They smother virtually everyone they play.

Would love to see the Sabres play a similar system, however I don't think they are mature enough yet as a team...still looking to blame everyone else and need outside leadership to motivate them. They aren't there yet mentally.

You are right, the earlier versions of those teams as offensive juggernauts were so much fun to watch, like the Sabres during 22-23 season. Highly entertaining.
But the best memories of Sabres Hockey is in the Playoffs...not so m7ch the regular season...

Remember the '05-'06 season..that team came at the opposing teams in waves...multiple levels of of attacking players. The trailer was a death knell to opponents. That was Lindy's team..he recognized what he had, to his credit.

The are mentally immature, and it is evident that very few have had to excert themselves mentally in a "...and I won't back down" mindset. They don't know how to affect their collective will on their opponent.
That is Lindy's biggest project.
They get that down, they will be dangerous.
Hockey isn't a passive sp9rt like Donnie tried to implement...gotta get involved, get friggin dirty.

Frank UPL for not making one extra save two years ago so we could get swept by Boston in the playoffs just so we could never hear about the drought again.
