My argument would be even when he is not scoring he is usually competing, defensively sound, blocks shots and hits.
- jribout

I posted the selke nominees comparison thing the other day - this was the 34 part:

Matthews ranked second among all NHL forwards in takeaways (85), tied for second in blocked shots (93), was fifth in even-strength total ice time (1,364:28) and seventh in plus-minus (+31).

Not to mention is almost always on the right side of the puck in the dzone and is also strong on 1v1 battles

And people forget that Babs he Mitch on the 3rd line with Martin cause he was refusing to work hard and back check so Babs taught him a lesson
- Big23Questions

And he still racked up points and so did his linemates.
And you forget how willie was sat several times with babs and keefe.

But its a different year, things change.

I guess you are just not that funny. Would explain why you think I am trying to be funny all the time though.....
- jribout

No, you're one of those rare cases where you're VERY funny when you arent trying.

But arent funny at all when you try to be.

Too bad Montreal pipeline is so deep on D. I wish Leafs had the #5 pick to take Richardenson.

Maybe you’re just not that good a writer and it just seems like you’re always being an ass? Could also be I’m not a fear audience as well but either way. I probably won’t start putting emojis or gifs though just a heads up.

Yeah, D!ckenson looks like a solid pickup. I think he's not making it past pick #7 for sure. Might be taken earlier.

Habs will draft a forward unless somehow Artyom Levshunov falls on their lap.

So it's gonna be Demidov, Lindstrom or Iginla imho.

Kinda curious to see what Marner can do in this new contract year. One upside to him staying will be to see if he goes nuts like Willy did. A record Marner year would be great for the team, but his contract demands would be astronomical. His trade deadline value would be higher though...

<5% chance he traded.

He'll walk at the end of the year if they dont pay him after his 135pt season.

if he's having an amazing year, you'd assume the team is as well. So you'd trade him at the deadline? Id let him walk if you had to. Basically the same as trading for two 5.5M players.

“AA was sick of Cush calling him an anti-semite over and over day after day. So he wrote one post to shut him up. and it worked. ban worthy? absolutely. however it should've never got to that point.”

Jesus. This place is becoming unhinged eh…a guy admittedly using an alt - talking about himself but referring to himself to his other alts back and forth with another poster - while talking about himself on the third person…wow.

There was a Seinfeld episode with a character just like that - Jimmy, I think was his name ....

I agree. Maybe Barkly Catton. Iginla is certainly climbing fast. I didn't really consider Demidov, but if Mitchkov can fall to 7 he can certainly drop to Montreal

the other gm's need to recognize that Iginla cannot be drafted by anyone but Calgary.

Nope. I remember when Keefe sat Willy too. Cause he deserved it. As did Mitchy. I’m not like a Marner fanboy with Willy. He frustrates me to watch sometimes for sure. But in a direct one on one Mitchy and Willy are super close comparables.

Primary points matter more. Again, goals are primary points. Direct reflection of impact a player makes in a game. Primary assist matter. Sometimes they hit an ass and bounce out but 99% of the time a player generated a shot on net and scorer banged in a ranking or a player directly passes a puck to another who scored. Do you not wonder why you hear it almost every telecast. Especially intermission when ex players talk. Bieksa even joke about raking up secondary points (in a self deprecating manner) during intermission of Game 1 Oil/Stars).

Whoever does pick him won't regret it.

Imagine if he gets to #9 and Calgary passes on him.

The drama!!

Ya i saw Jerry recently whining about cancel culture.

the truth is, none of these comics that complain are that funny anymore.

The exception is Bill Burr.
