I'd want more retention on Jones and either Entwhistle or Raddysh as well. - joel878
You could probably get them to retain more on SJ...
doubt they even consider either of those guys in the package. Esp giving up #2 now if Leafs sweetened the pot.. maybe... but not for Jarncock and late 1st with 16...

The leafs are already overpaying in that scenario.

My favourite among the "plausible" ones is:
To Utah:
Marner
#23
Topi Niemela
To Leafs:
Lawson Crouse
Maveric Lamoureux
Sean Durzi - oldstyle
Thats horrible as well.
Maybe marner for all three. No need to include our first or any prospects
If marner were on another team there is no way they would accept these garbage proposals....heck these garbage proposals wouldn't even exist.

I thought so too at first, but when you add in the 6M in cap space, it looks nicer.
It could be a Pesce! or a boat!

Gross.
Overpayment for the leafs
Not interested in seth jones. But if it had to be done, marner for jones (3m retained) and their 1st, no need for Toronto to add anything else. - Fakepartofme
To get a #2 overall pick in a relatively strong draft year would more than make up for the loss of Marner for a single season. Seth Jones a big tough RHD that would do much better on a decent team. Jarnkrok is a serviceable 3rd liner on a decent contract. With leafs losing that Brodie contract this year, the cap space to sign one or two decent UFA becomes significant. Marner without a signed deal becomes a rental deal worth much less. The number of teams that could add a player of $11M+ for 9 seasons is really limited.

No need for your over the top criticism of trade proposals. If Marner were on a different team he would be on a contract that paid much less than $10M heading into another contract that paid less than $10M per season. His cap hit is bigger than any of Kucherov, Draisaitl, Makar, Kaprisov, Barkov, Tkachuk and Rantanen to name a few. Think about his next contract for a minute. If he gets a raise which is likely, that bad deal becomes even worse long term.
I have been saying trade Marner no matter what..but I am going to walk back on that a bit.
Can't be trading Marner for a poop return, if thats all the leafs have with the places he is willing to go to I would like them to consider keeping him.

"Three more NHL players who were members of the Canadian world junior team at the time of an alleged sexual assault in 2018 released statements on Tuesday denying any involvement in the incident.
St. Louis Blues players Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas and Chicago forward Taylor Raddysh each issued statements via Twitter, with varying degrees of denial of their involvement and awareness of the incident that allegedly took place in London, Ont., in June 2018."
Was on the team but not one of the players charged, I think.
