Watching the game I was wondering if the Rangers weren’t used to the heat and humidity of Florida, or if you really feel it being in the arena. Much like the altitude in Colorado. The 3rd period looked like they were playing outside in 100 degree heat, and the panthers were playing inside. Hopefully they get their bearings better in game 4

Bob low key stinks. coming into this series had save percentage in these playoffs of under .910. But the Panther do such a great job that all he has to do is not be awful.

This take is really not too good. We’ve seen the Rangers be held to very few shots, but the chances they do get are often golden. It was similar vs Boston. One (team-wide) poopty game vs TB (the only game lost vs them) skewed his stats, too.
Goalie stats should be taken with a shaker full of grains of salt.

Definitely let one slip through their fingers yesterday. But, I know they won’t become discouraged and lie down. I fully expect the total opposite from them. This could be 2-1 FL, but it’s the reverse. FL can still take this series.

It really could be 3-0 either way. Rangers just couldn’t get one past Bob game one until the Laf own goal kinda sealed the game for the panthers.

That’s all good. I watched the Boston series where Bob would go stretches without being threatened, and then come with several huge saves in a row when a sudden flurry came at his net. I’ll believe stats more wholeheartedly when talking baseball, a game where individual performances are more easily dissected and analyzed. Not as much with hockey, with goalies numbers having the highest potential to be misleading.

This is actually a good point. Facing shots all the time may be better then not as it keeps you in the game mentally more often. Poor Bob and Freddie have it easy back there until they don’t, and the rangers strike because they haven’t seen as much action all game they may struggle a bit

It can also skew the stat numbers when you see very few muffins, but a few too many two on ones, or even a breakaway.
