Bourque?

Don't recall that.

It's funny and sad all at the same time.

(I do remember Neely getting benched. that was another brutal time for Bruins org)

those were dark times, Neelys hip was shot, Kevin Stevens was well past his prime, idiot coach Steve Casper trying to "send a message"

What do you mean by "across the board"?

Sorry, should have clarified that Ullie could fetch a star centre from the right team needing a #1 goalie.

Fighting a bad head hold, brain is a little foggy.

Ulmark could not fetch Draisital. The guy's a top 5 C in the league. Ulmark is losing his starting position to Swayman. I doubt Oil does the deal even with extras thrown in.

Based on interviews from current and former players it's a poop experience. Sounds a lot like corporate performance reviews where they nickel and dime you, tell you in mostly exaggerated and made up ways why you're not worth it, and suck your soul out.

After turning a performance like Swayman did, It would be pay me or (frank)ing trade me.

Oh I’m sure it’s a miserable process but it was Swayman that filed for arbitration. It wasn’t the Bruins that brought him to arbitration. That’s what I meant.

I thought arbitration was mainly just the player and the team comparing what they each believe to be equivalent contracts around the league, but I have no idea. I’m sure it sucks 😂

Bruins would do that but don't see Oilers going for it.

And does Ulmark want to move to Edmonton? He has control.

- Nasty_Duck

Dont think oilers would go with that

Based on his reaction, he was regretting that situation. Spitting Chiclets and Cam & Strick both have had guests on that talk about it. While the arbiter is supposed to be impartial, it still sounds grueling.

Hopefully he doesn't go for something like 10mil/year. Not sure what you do at that point. Would most likely result in a standoff or even worse a trade. If they could get him around 7 and then move Ullmark, they're in business.

10M and I am bringing him right on back to arbitration I would be entertaining trades and extending Ullmark to be honest.

Shesterkin signed at a cap hit of 5.56M after his entry level deal at age 25 and boom there is my comparable.

I doubt he is asking for 10. My guess is he lands somewhere between Shesherkin and Hellebuyck. Somewhere in the 6.75-8 range. If its a long term contract he will get more money as they are buying his prime years.

The sticking points could be about protections after he has seen what is going on with Ullmark.

Yeah, he's still an RFA. No way his camp entertains something that nutty.

And if they do - trade him. Maybe Utah would like a decent goalie.

Woof. Are you actually Harry Sinden? If you are Harry I just personally would like say for 1988-2006 truly, honestly, from the bottom of my heart, way, waaaay, into the cockles...the sub cockal region. Go (frank) yourself.

If not, well carry on. I hope someday I get to say it to him.

Unless its the Walrus from that Geico commercial, I'm not interested in signing any goalie for 10M per year.

10M is crazy. I don't think he is going to ask for that...at least I hope not.

Ridiculous! It's a Walrus!

Not there yet? What exactly does he have to do to "get there? Win a Vezina?

No goalie is worth 10m who has won nothing.

Goalies schmolies. Look at the stiffs that have won Cups recently. Deal whichever one gets you the best return. Sway is very good, more than happy to have him as long term goalie, but he shouldn't be paid huge money imo.

No just ignoring it as it's pure conjecture with no sources or any shred of proof. I don't fret over fantasy land. That's Toronto poop.

Then I'm not sure what the point of your post was?

Keep him if his asks are reasonable. Trade him if he has Marner's dad for an agent.

Period.
