Matthew Tkachuk has turned out fine for Florida with the "dad issues." It's a case by case basis, but for Matheson etc. I think the Habs would bite. So many young defenders and prospects, need some more "semi vet" help at forward if they can get it.

I get what you're saying with the comparison but they're completely different players, Tkachuk I wouldn't mind as much knowing how they mean business in the family lol.

I really don't see Necas as a "young veteran" to be relied on, a very good complimentary piece maybe but not necessarily an example to be followed imho.

I'm not the biggest fan of Necas.

But as Adam said, it's more about about his asks for next contract than what it costs to get him.

I'd rather keep Matheson I think, but I'd understand the move considering our depth.

yeah, I've been saying this for awhile. if Hughes wants to trade a dman for help upfront... there's not 36 solutions. Matheson is his main asset. good hockey trade.
