Cryderp looked dumb and sad, which lives up perfectly to his name, very nice ending.

now I'm rooting for the oilers to get it done with those stars, if I'm not mistaken I think it would put me at the #1 spot in our bracket challenge group

oh man, a tie in a soccer game, how exciting...!!

that is pretty cool indeed for your niece though, I'm guessing she plays soccer or at least enjoys the sport so it must've been a nice moment for her.

the worst part is I might be following Montreal FC very casually if it wasn't for the fact that they're so poorly managed and are always having either some controversy or trouble retaining good players...

I also can't get past the forced drama when a player gets "hurt", every time I'm like oh it's probably a stereotype more than anything and a few minutes later there's a player convulsing on the ground as though he stepped on a land mine and blew up his leg, after barely being touched at all. that poop reaaaaally gets on my nerves.

she's a goalie! i'm not sure how she got selected to do it but yeah she was pretty excited.

i agree about the flopping in soccer. it's really pathetic. how do they even respect each other?

I guess there's some sort of mutual respect in their bullpoop, since basically every player is doing it...? it seems to be part of the culture, selling the "injury" with an oscar-winning performance to sway the referees as much as possible in their favor.

it does happen in hockey, but definitely not as often. among pro athletes I think hockey players are considered the toughest mofos, I've heard some football players talking about how they find it's an insane sport lol.

i had a chuckle the other day. the announcers were talking about how surprised they were a player didn't come out for the second period after they went up the tunnel during the first because they got hit in the face with a puck. imagine a soccer player sitting at home watching that game and they hear that. hockey players are so tough it's surprising if you miss time for getting hit in the face with a puck.

yeah it's 2 different worlds entirely lol...

one thing for sure though, if I did become a fan of Montreal FC I'd definitely be hoping the team adopts a group mentality to avoid as much as possible doing any of that faking poop, even if it could potentially mean not generating as many penalties for opposing teams, thus creating some sort of disadvantage because of their honesty.

gotta start somewhere, perhaps other teams would eventually follow suit.

Not that I want him particularly

BUT

if the cost of acquiring Necas is only Matheson, where do I sign ?

https://www.lapresse.ca/s...serieuses-ces-rumeurs.php

I mean Matheson is gone in 2 years and Necas is 30 goals winger thats 25... Drafted just before Suz

Do you remember the crap we had to deal with Galchenyuk father? Necas daddy seems to be cut in same fabric…

We don’t need to go through that again…

the main issue with Galchenyuk is Galchenyuk himself, the fact that he isn't playing in the NHL anymore and that he's basically ruined his career has nothing to do with his dad, so the comparison doesn't hold up.

that being said, I wouldn't mind that stuff about Necas' dad all that much if the habs didn't give a lot to acquire him, and if he signed a reasonable contract that takes the habs' salary structure into consideration, but I have my doubts that would happen, he's probably gonna be asking for a poop ton of money.

Quebec will get pro franchise in new big-money hockey league

As revealed in reports a few weeks back, Major League Hockey (MLH), a new 16-team league that aims to capitalize on the concept of the NHL’s 3-on-3 overtime format, is coming to North America. And Quebec is getting a team.

Making the news official on Friday with the launch of their website, the MLH revealed a list of 14 North American franchise locations expected to be equipped with teams later this year.

Along with Quebec, the list includes three other Canadian markets. And funnily enough, Arizona, who just lost their NHL team via relocation to Utah is also included.

New York
Florida
Texas
Ontario
Quebec
Saskatchewan
British Columbia
California
Oklahoma
New England
Nebraska
Missouri
Arizona
Minnesota

The league also announced other elements of its format, revealing that teams will consist of 12 skaters and two goalies. Meanwhile, games will last 24 minutes, with an intermission at the halfway point.
