oui mais si la logique c'est "on doit progresser l'an prochain", c'est plus un move de panique que si tu fais l'échange parce que t'aime vraiment le joueur en question...

+1000

La prochaine saison n’est pas la bonne pour faire un gros move…. On an encore trop de mauvais contrats à digérer….

Until Dvorak, Armia, etc... are off the books, it is still a growth year and not the time to make a big move, unless something spectacular comes along.

My hope is that they are contenders for the playoffs, deep into the season, and can (somehow) remain mostly freak injury free.

Next summer, however....

Dach or no dach pretty much changes everything

They will run suzuki with caufield and slaf

2nd line : Newhook, Dach, ? (Roy?)

Depends on who they draft, IMO.

I really like Newhook in the 3C slot, gives the team a lot more offensive potential/flexibility, so (assuming) they draft a top 6 player (and Dach is good to go), they need to go out and get another top 6 player. how they mix up those 6 players will be interesting, given the current chemistry of CC/Suzuki/Slaf.

I would like to see Roy and Newhook form the 3rd line. Maybe Beck makes it there too, at some point.

Good problems to have, if you can get those 2 top 6 players (1 via draft, 1 via trade/FA).

The player they draft wont play right away with the Habs. Fans need to be way more patients with prospects.

If Armia has a year like last season, I really dont mind him. And I would expect that some teams will call around the deadline for him. Contract year so hopefully he will be motivated.

I am not saying right now.

I am saying 25/26 season, I really don't care about this upcoming season, with respect to setting the nucleus and top 6 given the contracts on the roster that need to be gone before that is set.

yeah, I guess Im not in the mood to skip a full season and I dont think players are either.

Gallagher and Anderson will still be there by the way and they have much bigger deals than Dvorak and Armia

Dach needs to play this season but mind you, he needed to play last season as well

The Gallagher and Anderson contracts are a problem, not sure that gets resolved.

I think they can deal with keeping one, but not both, after this season.

Like I said, I hope for no freak injuries and push for the playoff this upcoming year.

But... let's just get past the summer and see what happens first!

Rain is in the air, heat is gonna break at some point, so yes, it might just be a good morning!
