What would you give for Zygras? Vancouver 1st and a prospect? - stoops2u
I would rather this team spend its picks trying to get guys that are built for the playoffs rather than soft offensive guys that do not hit.
Speaking of which, I am hoping this team will get a lot more mean this summer.

Probably address the fact the Flames have one of the worst drafting and PO records since 2004...start with that KY!!!

Hola Lord Micro Penis! How’s it hanging? Nevermind that was an insensitive question.
We haven’t heard from you in a while. I mean that fulfilling career of yours driving an Zamboni in the Red Deer arena must keep you busy. Between that and sucking McDavids cack I’m suprised you can even find the time to visit us.
Great final so far, what’s Conner whispering to you? No pillow talk please, just hockey talk about the series.
Most in here are cheering for the Panthers, just so you know there will be no sympathy for you and your play toys. Have you cleaned your arena broom for game 4 cause it looks to be a sweep to the cup. I’m sure they could use your skills to sweep out the Oilers. Maybe they’ll get another 1oa so we can finally see a cup in Canada, although I don’t consider Edmonton part of Canada.
Besides hanging around the Oiler dressing room pleasuring your idols, what else have you been doing. Gone to any Trump rallies lately? Trucker convoy? Covid protests? You’re such a unique person, I’m sure everyone just waits for you to post non hockey material on a hockey site.
How’s the weather in Red Deer? Or is it Lacombe? It’s a nice sunny day here in K Town, not overrun by tourists yet, just enjoying a brewsky in the back yard.
Well I got to go. I’m glad you finally tore yourself away from the Oiler clubhouse to bless us with your wisdom.
Take care, as always, come back soon. Your knees could use a break. |

I know you’re not actually interested in reality, but drafting is the only thing the Flames have been good at. They’re statistically the second best drafting team since 2007.

Lordy always causing crap on this hockey site, fluttering from blog to blog stirring it up. Posting political, covid, trucker convoy nonsense, fighting with anyone that sees things differently.
Maybe we can post in peace for a while.

Whats the chances Calgary keeps Markstrom and Wolf and trade Vladar? Play Wolf 40% of the time. Then trade Marky next year. Should see where we are at with his mentoring |

Very low odds, I think Markstrom wants to go. There's enough teams in the market for Markstrom for a deal to be had. If Jersey are playing hard ball with the #10, I would be ok with Markstrom at 50% for Minten & the #23 from the Leafs. Need to move on & I really want to see what Vladar is. Just hope that hip will be 100% by training camp. |

For what it's worth, Conroy publicly said today that Markstrom hasn't told him he wants out. It could all be posturing so he's not dealing from a position of weakness, but I don't think it's 100% that Markstrom gets traded. I think he's probably still trying to convince Markstrom that they can be competitive for his final two years. I'm starting to buy in a bit to the approach as long as they're not giving out massive 7 year contracts to someone like Chandler Stephenson. Mangiapane, Sharangovich, and Kuzmenko are all playing for contracts, so expect career years out of all of them. Massively overpaying Stamkos on a short contract makes a lot of sense. I also think Pesce makes a lot of sense no matter the route they want to take even knowing they'd have to overpay. They have so many young offense only defenceman coming up. He'd be the perfect guy to pair them with.
They really just need to go all-in for a two-three year run or trade everyone over the age of 25. |

Can they even trade a player that is injured?

They can keep him in the minors for "rehab" for awhile. Then go from there. |

I hope the Flames pass on the UFA market entirely but offer sheeting some young RFA's or collecting extra picks for taking on bad contracts is another story.

Depends on Conroys marching orders. I’d rather stay the course and try for a couple top 5 picks but who knows what Edwards wants. |

Offer sheet 22 year old Brayden Schnieder for as many years as he wants at $4.58 per.... costs us a 2nd round pick and the Rags are really up against it to match. |

He could be a decent trade target for the Flames, but there's no chance that's a successful offer sheet. The Rangers have plenty of cap space for next season and won't have issues until Shesterkin's new contact. Even his contract might be manageable if the cap increase next year is similar to this year's.
They'd likely have to get to that 1st, 2nd, 3rd tier to have a chance of the Rangers not matching, and the Flames don't have the picks for that. |

Agreed.
Rangers aren't that tight to the cap yet. They have a little wiggle room this year, it's next year they might be tight and then you bend them over the barrel. And at that point you go after Edmonton first, not NYR. No way the Flames do it without hurting their conference or division rivals before they're ready to compete. Hurt the Oilers, Canucks, Oilers, or Jets first. Not the Rangers. |

Reports suggest the Rags are targeting a top UFA winger and they had to waive Goodrow to make room.
They probably do match an offer sheet but I highly doubt they are budgeting to pay Schnieder any where close to 4.5mil. 4.5 is an overpay so I would not go beyond that #.

Good read Trevor regarding Markstrom. I like TO and LA deals.
https://calgaryhockeynow....y-flames-jacob-markstrom/ - stoops2u
Agreed, I like the LA deal & they may be more motivated to doing that deal. #21 could be a real useful pick as well. I wonder of they could get Turcotte thrown in there as well. |

2025 first, top ten protected, and the Flames are retaining salary. |

NJD having an off year with injuries and poor goaltending, you have to know that their 1st next year will be much later.
The return is definitely underwhelming especially since we're retaining.
The proposed trade scenarios by Trevor were for late 1st rounders THIS year and no salary retention....that was also what I was hoping for.
Or if retaining salary, getting a higher pick this year like New Jersey's 10th pick
