I highly doubt he's signing here as well, plus someone is gonna overpay as he's the best pure center on the market.
Hope Vancouver stays away and gets a top line winger instead - NewYorkNuck

Trading Hronek for a winger is ridiculous. That includes Necas.

Unfortunately if he really wants 8 mil, any trade where we get back more than we traded is on the table imo. |

Not necessarily. If they can trade him AND sign a top 4 defenseman to replace him, it's not a bad maneuver – especially if he's asking for 8+. |

This but Hronek definitely brings value and we know what we have in him. To me that is ideal but if we wiff on the dman ouch |

He's an RFA, we don't need to sign him, we can always let him hold out like Hughes and Petey did when they signed their last contracts with Benning before this. If we make it clear to him that we will not being signing him and that he can sit at home unless he brings his demands into a range we can afford. And besides, if some team wants to give him an offer sheet at the price he wants, we can let him go and collect all the tasty 1sts we'll get for him.
Honestly, I'd rather sign for a top 6 winger than trade for one. You draft centers and defensemen as you can always convert a center to being a winger easy, it's hard to convert a winger to be a centerman and defensemen are ALWAYS at a premium. |

No can do in your suggestions. Hronek has arb rights so he’s getting a contract and if Canucks don’t accept then he’s a UFA.
Canucks will either sign him or trade him at draft. |

As Quinn said, he had arb rights, so it's either sign him long term, sign him to a 1 year deal through arb (very unlikely), or trade him.
I mean I don't care if they end up trading him for a winger or center or defenseman or picks. If Allvin and co feel he's asking too much relative to his worth and they can maneuver the situation to make the team better, they've earned that trust from me. I think they have a lot of different possibilities that we don't see |

I think they sign him at least for another year, trading him right now would send a bad message especially when he helped Hughes get to another level and (tentatively) win the Norris this year. They might not sign him long term, but I think they wait until next TDL to either fully commit or trade him. Is he the best defenseman they can get either on the trade market or UFA? I don't know, but moving on from him when they gave up so much for him (seeing as he's literally become the centerpiece of the Horvat trade) I don't see happening.
He may have priced himself out, but I don't think they'll get rid of him unless there's a trade out there that significantly improves them and they have a replacement in place to take over for him. Don't forget that they may not be able to resign Z or Myers and/or have to replace those minutes/players too. Doing that while trading Hronek away might drop us down significantly as our D was one of our biggest strengths this year, especially when both Demko and DeSmith went down to injuries and we had to turn to Superstar Silovs in the playoffs. |

Yeo and Baumer join Green on Sens. Ex Canuck coaching staff complete. The Sens player trade values are going to plummet. Good pick ups by TDL lol. |

If they sign him for a year his value drops tremendously. They're either forced to sign him when he has all the power, or trade him before he walks as a UFA. He just becomes a rental at that point for another team. They either have to sign him long term or trade him now.
I think too many teams/fan bases care too much about a bad message. Look at Vegas. They're ruthless, and players still sign there. They win.
Him helping Hughes also increases his trade value, so ya they gave up a lot for him but his value is higher now than when we traded for him... the contract detracts from that, so at worst it's even.
This management team is able to think of multiple things at one time, so I would highly doubt they would trade him without other things already lined up. Lots of time to sign their guys and then trade Hronek. There are good RHD UFAs on the market (Pesce being my ideal target), so it's not a complete swing in the dark this year.

I know you guys don't want to hear it but quick temporary fix would be Ristolainen less 1.5 mil and Flyers second round pick for the rights to Jett Woo. His salary would be 3.6 mil for three years. He is pretty much the same type player as Myers was at the start of last year. Much cheaper than a six mil RHD.
I would also look at Bahl for Hoglander. |

No he isn't. Myers was overpaid and playing like a bottom pairing guy. Risto is statistically the worst defenseman in the entire league and actively a big detriment to his team |

I still bet that Canucks resign Hronek.
Hopefully longer term for a decent amount and without a NTC.
I’d like to see Hronek anchor a 2nd line with the right partner.

Safe bet.
Lindholm and Joshua are moving in for greener pastures.
Need to sign Zadorov, resign Hronek and Myers.
Do some bargain bin hunting for cheaper wingers.

Disagree on that one.
I think they can easily bring back all 3.
Hronek will get paid. Hopefully under 7.
Zadorov hopefully under 5.
Myers under 3. |
