I wanted to mention Florida they play such a relentless game in terms of the forecheck they are undeniably the best. They attack in waves on the opposition breakout and don’t let up at all all the way to their defensive zone. This is why guys like Kulukov and Ekman Larsson are decent fits as they don’t face a lot of rush opportunities as the opposition is denied room to speed up approaching the offensive blue line. Also they are easily the most physical team in the playoffs as they seem to welcome the physical play and almost wait to drag you into the wall with them. - Nucknab23
They are in cap hell this summer. The vultures will be circling.

They are for sure it will be interesting to see who they keep who they trade etc. I could see Ekblad moving with one year left on his deal |

I like the player a lot but at 11 million I feel like it handcuffs you as he’s not a really fast player he’s got great hands but those will slow too. I bet he gets closer to 9.75 over 6-7 at almost 30 years old it would make me nervous. |

How in the (frank) do people think we’re going to add? This was the best team depth we’re going to have and they blew it. We don’t have enough cap room to run it back even.
No one is taking Mik unless we have an equally bad contract coming back or add a 2nd+ or a high prospect to it. Lindholm, Joshua and Hronek have probably priced themselves out of here. I think Zadorov stays. But there will be many roster spots to fill. We need to add some grit too. Having 1 Canadian player dressed in a game in the playoffs isn’t good enough. You could tell the team was gassed by game 6 in the second round. - I-own_da-Northwest
That Florida team is just loaded with Canadians! |

Remember, this is one of the guys who felt Pouty should be making North of 12 million, while several of us thought 8.5-9 was more appropriate.
Everyone else is expected to take a haircut. - Reubenkincade
That’s actually not something I’ve ever said, but great try. Your mother I’m sure is very proud. I think Marchessault is the type of player we need. |

BC roots? I've had beers with his dad when he went to hockey school in Penticton.
Maybe?
Nope. |

What would it take to get Luke Hughes here to play with his brother? |

I was asking because Kevin Bahl is another BC boy I would like to go after. What would the package deal need to look like.

Hughes is the future in Jersey, can’t imagine he’s available after such a solid rookie year. |

At least Canucks lost to SC Finalist. So close to being the one now a team with a lot of questions on how they will look for next season. |

If we can't get B Tkachuk, how about Pouty and Mikey for Tage Thompson and Tuch. We sign Lindholm as 2C.

Could build a trade like this:
Hronek (RFA rights), Miky, Klimovich for Kotkanemi, Necas (RFA rights), Pesce (UFA rights) - NewYorkNuck
Carolina likely has zero interest in the right to overpay Hronek. I’m reading a lot of Hronek to CAR rumours and they don’t make any sense |

JR likes Lindholm, he drafted him. Word is they'd like to re-sign him, depends how high he is on the priority pecking order. Re-sign D, top 6 forward, then? - VanHockeyGuy
Lindholms time is done in Vancouver. Neither party is serious. 💯 |

Boston would be smart to offer us a 3rd in order to negotiate an 8th year with Lindholm. - Retinalz
It doesn’t work that way. He would have had to be moved prior to the TDL for them to be able to offer 8 |

Aside from being able to land him more easily, why would a team want the 8th year? |

Presumably to lower the cap hit. Regardless, Canucks are the only team that can offer 8. Lindholm does not deserve 8 after a very inconsistent season |

And if they wanted him that badly, they would have outbid Vancouver near the TDL to acquire and resign him. Not to mention that why would they trade anything for the rights to sign him? Why not just wait and make their best offer during the negotiating window. Not since the negotiating window was put into the CBA have we ever seen teams send assets or picks to a team for the rights to sign a UFA or even an RFA unless it's TDL or earlier. |

And the skids come to the VAN thread. - VanHockeyGuy
Which is weird as I have only been here a short time but many posters here are their own worst enemies. I see from past threads you pop in from time to time to start stirring stuff up with political jabs or otherwise and then just sit back and watch the fallout. Don't really have the balls to back your stuff up it appears. Interesting how visitors are labelled "skids" is all. |
