He's been league average for a few years. This year was disasterous. Guys with a similar negative impact include Tom Wilson, Miles Wood, Torey Krug, Tyler Myers and Matt Dumba.

The Jacob Trouba dilemma is more interesting. Like Kreider, his no-movement clause becomes a 15-team no-trade clause on July 1, and the captain did not play up to his $8 million cap hit this year. His game slipped and he had a rough postseason. Colleague Arthur Staple wrote he believes there could be interest in Trouba, who had two years left on his deal, especially if the Rangers retain some of his cap hit. That’s something Drury will have to at least consider, even if Trouba is a valuable team leader and wears the “C.”

Personally after watching him, I think he could add some value at a retained rate but his effect on his team this year wasn't good, and im past bringing in tuff vets who hurt us.

He's not a #1 D-man but hes pretty good I think and hes a right shot which adds value in itself.

Put up better #'s last year in Detroit without Quinn as his partner.

trouba is also on the first pk unit of a team that aside from the canes, was neck and neck with the bruins for the best pk team over the last 3 years
