If Ottawa buys out Joshua Norris ( incented to do so before 7/1 at only 33% vs 66%), would you considering signing to a medium term contract knowing he would likely spend a good amount of the season on LTIR?
It's a gamble that could resolve the C position nicely for several years until a prospect is ready for that position.

No it wasn’t. Greenway just signed a deal and Minnesota who was in a playoff race couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
. The Minnesota Wild have traded struggling power forward Jordan Greenway to the Buffalo Sabres for a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 fifth-round pick, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
The move allows the Wild to clear some cap space ahead of a crunch that is coming after the club bought out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter last year.
Greenway, six-foot-six, is in the first year of a three-year, $9-million contract but has made a minimal impact this season, scoring only two goals and seven points in 45 games - ImThatGuy
well, yes, he wasn't scoring well there. But he was still on one of the best checking lines in the league. He had a history of scoring before, and he has scored at a higher clip here.. I don't know what your issue is - a second rounder is just about right.

The deal proposed being an easy yes from a Sabres fan perspective means it's too light and will take more then proposed, and likely something a Sabres fan would not want to give up. - kingcong39

12 goal career high in 2018-19 is a history of scoring?

why would they do that - TheSabresTaco
Norris is a decent 2c. If they could get him on decent deal and let him recover from 2nd shoulder surgery on LTIR (ala Tuch) he'd be a gem when healthy.
Gotta have good C's... And he is

He's got a really bad shoulder, multiple injuries to it. Depends on the Contract

I was going back earlier than that, which is where he had similar (if not better) scoring numbers than Tage. He checked a lot of the boxes that we needed / need. I think that if you get a guy with his size, speed, physical play, and PK ability for a second rounder, that isn't bad. Again, we needed (and still need) so many of those things. I think the problem is that Meatballs thought that there is more potential in there, and I don't think there is. I was happy with his play before they started moving him up.

A 5th rounder by itself might not have been enough but to think Greenway was ever worth a 2nd round pick and then some is just mental

His two best years point wise were in Minnesota. The final pick of the second round was fair value tho, I do agree
