I meant to say, why would Ottawa do that? - TheSabresTaco

if he played 12 minutes a night, he is not hurting the team
the problem is he was playing over 17 minutes a night
a team that constantly misses the playoffs has more holes than a head coach in their lineup - homiedclown
Does he make his own ice-time?
Everyone knows he was playing higher in the lineup than he should have been. Thats not the players fault |

Hes just as good if not better than Trenin who you've been clamoring for the last 3 months. - DirtyDan

Well, yes - I think I have said that all along. He was absolutely brutal when they moved him up. He was good when they let him be where he belongs. There were holes on the team last year (Girgs and Krebs come to mind), but I don't consider him one.

He has 1 year left on his contract, he is making 3 mill a year. Are we resigning him, I think we can do better. - Buff36

Trenin is a much better skater and actually will drop the gloves. |

stutzle, pinto, norris is a pretty good 1-2-3 punch down the middle - homiedclown
If Norris at $8m is your 3C with Grieg there too ... That is a Cap Problem. Grieg becomes 3C with Norris buyout at 50% discount if done before 7/01.
Will be interesting to watch. |

krebs was a plus player on the 4th line which is probably the 17th or 18th reason why we missed the playoffs

Theoretical question.
The Kings call and say that they will take Skinner with no celery retained, and he agrees to waive his NMC.
The cost? We have to send this year's first and second picks. Nothing comes back.

Maybe it is unfair to group him in with them, but that line was useless. Congrats that he kept his head above water. Either way, if we are talking about improving the team, he is still a candidate (and a better one that Greenway) |

My sauce told me Brett Murray farted and the gust of fart was so powerful it blew Krebs over...also turned Okposo's bubbles green, that's why he got cut.

Okay, they're both 4th liners who are good in their roles.
Replacing Greenway with Trenin would move ZERO needles. Its a lateral pointless move. The only thing it'd do is save you some cap for this year...which we dont really need.

And yet we're complaining about a 4th line player cause the coach played him up in the lineup...... The problem was not the player people... |

Nope - IonSabres
I actually would as it would accomplish two things:
1) Skinner will never be a guy that plays in a system. Ever. Quite possibly the worst defensive hockey player in the league.
2). It buys you 27 mill in cap space over the next three years. That allows you to shop or keep your guys. |

Thinking about this some more... the return would have to start with Quinn or Peterka, right? I don't know if I love that.
