I would hate it. Bratt is meh. Would prefer Necas.
- DirtyDan

He had 83pts this season, 73 the year before that.

seasons 1 and 2 were great

3 was blah

4 was putrid

- homiedclown

I didn't see 4. I liked 3. 2 was fine, 1 was great

Wow, no kidding. I never gave it a look after being disgusted with the resolution of season 1 and the mediocre reviews that season 2 got.
- Slump Buster

I watched season 1 when it came out and was blown away. Watched it again recently and it wasn’t as good. Great but very overrated.

Decided to watch Season 2, never did because the reviews.

It was a masterpiece. Start to finish.

pretty sure they get paid in full on a buyout
- homiedclown

Their salary gets reduced as well, but not any bonuses.

I doubt the devils would move Bratt but when comparing the 2, he is what you hope necas becomes

Haven't read anything on the Devils, but do they really need big moves? They built a nice team and probably see a big bounce back with decent goaltending.

bottom half of the roster is pretty bad

perhaps worse then ours even

Last TD season is good. Think it's easier to tell some people it's a new sci fi apocalypse show instead of a video game adaptation.

Speaking of, how great is Halo and Last of Us

- TheSabresTaco

To me, TD4 is lazy storytelling. Think about it - all they did was take a creepy story and then slowly reveal it over time. That's it. Add in a few jump scares (another sign that it sucked) and that was it. They lived off that opening 20 minutes for the whole season (or at least until I bailed, which was after 4 or 5 episodes). Fallout also dealt with a slow reveal told over 2 different timelines, but there was an actual story and great characters.

That's why I am a bit skeptical about Bratt being an option. We would have to be sending back roster players in return.

Did Lindy deserve to be the scapegoat last year with jersey?

I'd gamble that Peterka is about to put up those numbers this year. It wouldn't surprise me if Quinn hits 60 this season and then upwards after that. I'd be happy to trade them anyone not on the roster. We've seen these guys in the league and I think they are both special.

They lost a couple of d before last year and then had bad injuries on D. The D they had were either really young or sucked.

The ending of TD1 really, really bothered me. To go through all of that setup only to have it all be meaningless? Hated it.

All day long. But as noted before, I think NJ would be taking a step back with that trade. I would see them wanting to build in the same way we want to.

Right or wrong, when the team is underachieving, the coach gets canned...except in Buffalo. KA was willing to waste a season.

If memory serves, I think it becomes more palatable in a year to buy him out? If the rumors are true about him being moved, I wonder if they used that as leverage. If you buy someone out, do they still get the money? Or is it only a cap savings?
- Slump Buster

Cap hits by year if they buy him out this year:

2024: $1.4
2025: $4.4
2026: $6.4
2027: $2.4
2028: $2.4
2029: $2.4

The 3rd year hurts but really it isn't that bad overall.

I'm torn tbh. I get the rationale if they do it but idk if the team actually gets better without him. It depends what else they do

I just ran it for next year - it shaves of .4 mill each year, and it looks like the last year is also shaved off.

24 is probably the 1 year they do not need relief from his contract

Good points

I’m pretty excited about the Lindy hiring

He may not be the best coach in the league , but he’s still relevant.

Couple wins more from Lindy then Donnie and we’re pushing the playoffs

So pretty similar. I would think if you're going to do it then, you might as well do it this year. I'd be fine with it if I knew the corresponding move. If they're buying him out just to open a space for Rosen/Kulich/Whoever then I don't think it's worth it. He's still more valuable than them imo.

If it's to clear space for a clear upgrade then I'm all for it

Good pull :

Hughes missed some time , probably resulting in less goals in the 23-24

Pretty ugly overall though

If they're serious about winning this year then every dollar counts. If it's the same poop as the past 3 years where they've used cap savings to offset jalapeno costs then it doesn't matter
