#NYR  Igor Shesterkin was still pretty hard on himself:

“I just know I could make another save and we could probably score after that.”

He’s such an incredible competitor.

“I just want to say thank you so much. It was really amazing to play at MSG and on the road trips. Best fans in the league and I can’t wait to get back next season.”

Just looking back he got hurt on March 4th and his first game back was March 30th. Broken ankle doesn’t heal in a few weeks (as far as I know). It is curious why he played so early after it happened.

I have a tough blaming many players this year, Jmo. Coach and FO dropped the ball a bit

If you're too hurt to walk, you're too hurt to play playoff hockey.

All fall playing hurt unless it risks further injury or really limits their ability

From Dan Rosen:

To clarify this, Trouba wanted it to be known that the ankle was not broken in the playoffs and he was not limited by this injury in the playoffs.

Good quote here:
#NYR  Kaapo Kakko said that Peter Laviolette spoke to him over the Summer about having the chance to play with Kreider and Zibanejad:

“I felt pretty good about that. All those games we played together — it never worked out that well. If you’re playing those minutes, you have to score some goals also. We never scored that much, so I can’t say I didn’t get the chance with those guys.”

Hasn’t been a player that’s frustrated me more than Kakko. I’m talking ever. So that’s like 40 seasons of Rangers hockey 🤦

Did they say when it happened? If I recall one blocked shot seemed to do the damage they’re referring to. I think it was around the bye week

If someone has to be the scapegoat I’m fine with it being Trouba. It would make this place a little less irritating lol

Just don’t know if they’d trade the captain right now.

This is the correct take.

No, it isn't. LTIR him for what? So we could accrue cap space AFTER the trade deadline had passed?
It's flat out amazing and asinine that you guys blame the front office (or the players themselves) for players getting injured as the season wore on. This is life, not your PS4. If you don't want to deal with reality stick to the safe, virtual spaces you've become used to.
This is the big boy league. We couldn't stay healthy and then we couldn't stay hot. It happens to at least one team almost every damn year. We had a really good team that got beat by a better one that was hot at the right time. Boo hoo. Put on your big boy pants, suck it up and deal with life, or don't. But, don't think that you've all got all the answers in your simulated basement-world and everyone else who is excepting reality doesn't know what's what. So annoying to see all those with perfect hindsight telling everyone else how they knew better than those in charge.

He’s a JAG (just another guy). He’s Jimmy Vesey who we have to pay 3 million dollars for. Kakko doesn’t even kill penalties lol

One playoff goal (that was handed to him on his stick)

And he admitted he didn’t produce. He didn’t sugarcoat it. The kid line look great in the 2022 playoffs and that was their highlight. We have a sense what Laf is and what Kakko is. Jury on Chytil is still out to an extent

All for players playing injured unless the really can’t go. As for trouba ltir could’ve got them a nice top 4 dman or top rw. Worked well for Vegas. A lot of folks mentioned this when Trouba originally got hurt in March. Not really sure why you’re so angry here.

Nobody is blaming players here. More so a GM issue. Drury did some crazy poop the previous deadline too wi to the whole Kane trade.

Yes, we know, you basically want a tear down, been made very clear. If cheap and can play on third line, he might stick. But in all likelihood, fresh start for all parties is the probable end result

I could see kakko staying but they may want a faster better forechecking winger. Could let Othmann or Berard slide in there as well

For all we know, they tried and failed to do so. Hanifin went to Vegas and signed LT. Chychrun has another year left so not just replacing like for like salary wise just for the season. I would have preferred acquiring someone better than Ruhwedel but he and Jones were fine when Trouba and others were out
