The more I think about it, the more I like and want Drury to target Alex Tuch. He’s a big (6’4 220) right winger and would compliment Zib nicely. He has scored 22 & 36 goals in back to back seasons on a mediocre Buffalo team and he has a great cap hit that wouldn’t hamper us much

Kreider Zib Tuch
Laf Tro Panarin
Cuylle Chytil Othmann
Any combo of Goodrow, Rempe, Edstrom, Vesey

The only thing that concerns me here is relying to heavily on Chytil. If he gets hurt again, that 3C hole will be another pain in the ass to fill. I don’t know what our cap looks like, but if we could sign another C, that would help tremendously

Drury tried to trade for him at the deadline but Buffalo has no intention of trading him

Buffalo will never deal with the Rangers. I wonder why.

The question is why then would Buffalo trade him?

Jan, if I'm not mistaken, his contract is up at the end of next year. IMO, Buffalo is not a contender and if they have the feeling he won't resign next season, perhaps Drury can entice them to trade him for younger assets

Marchessault is about to turn 34, this will be his last contract, he will want more years than he will be useful for and everyone will be cursing him and his contract in a year

Hard Pass

Let another team make that mistake, we've done it too many times already

Soft pass, hard pass is a bit much. He is kind of perfect for the now. Tough to argue that part

I have a feeling they sign Tarasenko for the reasons you suggest. He won’t get many years

Feels a little light going to Anaheim tho. They love Gudas out there from what I see

Seems like fans want ‘25 first rders over ‘24. I assume that draft is better

If we win a cup, do we really care how the contract ages as long as we win?

Yea theyre now at the point where they need to gamble a little bit. Which they haven’t really done.

Well sort of. What if we dont win the Cup though? We were a bit lucky injury wise. Would we want him on a 6 year deal?

Id do 4 yrs.

What do you think?

I dont want to jinx the guy, but I can live with it. Hes not known to have an injury history. Production has been quite consistent as well.

I thought we were blowing everything up? Sending Trouba to Detroit, Zib to Vancouver, and Panarin and Kakko to the moon.

Trouba, even retained 2m, frees up 6m that can be used towards signing.

Someone else to consider, via trade, is Bjugstad, I dont know what hes been drinking but hes had a career resurgence. At 2.1m, hes a steal for the production he has.

So that’s a net increase of $500k against the cap. Who fills in as 3rd pairing RD?
