This long of a delay for the finals to start is major BS haha...if this goes to 7 games it will end only a week before free agent season begins. - MattStrat
Agree. NHL blew this, should have been game 1 tonight. This long of a delay with stymie interest. |

Apparently they're waiting till Saturday to cater to the US networks.

Blew it big time...fans, outside of the cities competing, have lost interest. Should have started finals 2 or max 3 days after conf finals. That an stretching it out 2 weeks really poor decisions |

With the travel I can see why they stretched it out. Edmonton is the great white North, so close to the Arctic circle. I think Draisaitl lives in a 2 bedroom igloo. |

I thought it was for Hockey Night in Canada. 🤔
They should be starting tonight, but the NBA starts tonight, and ESPN shows both. Idk if FL arena is booked Friday night. Maybe the extra days were because they saw it was (most likely) going to be Edmonton moving on, and the long distance travel in store for them before game 1. Would’ve been rough on the West team if there would’ve been game 7 in the WCF Tuesday night. At least both teams have been waiting pretty much the same length of time. |

Yes, because the NHL has a great track record of outcompeting the NBA finals...The league picked the days deliberately for TV scheduling purposes. |

Doesn’t matter if hockey fans lose interest, nba or not. Waiting a week between series is going to put off hockey fans. Most NBA fans don’t watch hockey unless they have to. Stupid decision. |

Because Buttman wanted it that way! And only 2-3 days from the last series! |

Nearly every dedicated hockey fan will watch regardless of the delay. MANY casual sports fans will not watch if the NHL games contend with NBA games. |
